This presentation appeared in my feed today, and I eagerly opened it, always seeking high-quality educational content to view. Not disappointed, and now subscribed! 👍 As an environmental educator, I produce and deliver a wide variety of public programs, and one includes viewing plants and animals through a UV filter light to better understand how various organisms with vision capable of perceiving UV spectrum lightwaves see the world. Lichens and fungi are stars in the show!

love lichens so much, they have such a subtle beauty, and sometimes are just stunning in appearance. I love using my phones magnifier to get a better if somewhat grainy views. It's also a plus that there's often moss nearby. There's a big formation of volcanic rock near where i live so theres a wall of hexagonal pillars absolutely covered with dinner plate sized blobs of several kinds of lichen with some moss in the cracks of the formation.

I found out about lichens the hard way. Camping rough, halfway up a mountain on the Cape peninsula (SA)! It took some intense deductive browsing to finally work out why my eyes couldn't stop burning. Be warned! Ha! 😭😵
