It would be interesting to see a longer documentary about lichens.

What would you like to know about them?

@@natureclearly I'd like to watch a video about biodiversity of lichens and their interaction with other organisms, for example, springtails or insects.

i am curious if it is currently known what the function of cilia on lichen is. do they always appear in that arrangement sticking out at the edges of the lobe? are they only ever present on foliose lichen?

I used to think that crustose lichens was moss. I wasn't aware of both foliose and fruticose. Thank you for great video. And is pale white ones really alive?

I heard back in high school that you can use the presence/amount of crustose/foliose/fruticose lichen as a test for air quality, since foliose and fruticose lichens have a higher proportion of their surface area exposed. not sure how true/relevant it is, though

I have recently become very interested in these little guys, thank you so much for this video! I’m curious, when the lichen sexually reproduces, the spores only contain the fungus, correct? So does that mean that the spores are free to join with any species of algae or Cyanobacteria and can become a different species of lichen? Or are do they only join with the same types and reproduce as the original lichen?

This is a great question! There's so little information out there on this topic and I want to devote a special video to this matter in the (hopefully near) future. 😊 Thank you for watching! 🤗
