The food served in the military was much better than it was when I first entered in 1968 in the Air Force. The best thing done by the Air Force was to send their chefs to a special school where they learned how to cook correctly by civilian chefs.

As for the original posters questions, the branch of the military preparing the food doesn't matter so much, but rather, the individual and the vendor supplying the food. 90% of military food outside produce is processed crap. And these guys aren't no chefs! Chefs are what you see on TV doing all that fancy stuff and extremely well-trained!

Small kitchen? The cooks (just 2 of them) on my submarine made 4 meals a day for 100 in a shoe box sized kitchen. They would send submarine cooks to the ACI, but it didn't work out too well, until the ACI chefs went aboard the boats the had to learn how to cook in a shoebox.

PRE-MADE FOOD VS. COOKED & BAKED FROM SCRATCH?? 1. Whose food taste the best, Army, Air Force, Navy, or Coast Guard?? 2. I've noticed from watching these vids, alot of the food is pre-made. Which of the above 4 branches does N-O-T make pre-made food, but from scratch & tastes the best?? 3. Do all of the branches teach u how to bake from scratch 2??

In order for servicemembers who are in combat to do well, they must be well-nourished.
