But for non-ohmic devices, won't V=IR still hold at every point?
@ElectronicsNotes2 жыл бұрын
This is a good point and yes it does, but the value of R changes with voltage. The definition of an ohmic conductor us one where the resistance is constant.

Thanks this helps a lot, I am writing a lab report on non-ohmic lightbulb and cannot make sense of the dependent and independent variable(I thought the independent variable should be current)

Hi, I’m confused, so does resistance of ohmic condcutor change when temperature changes?
@ElectronicsNotes2 жыл бұрын
Yes, even the resistance of a wire wound resistor will change. The changes are generally quite small and in many cases they won’t be noticed, especially over small temperature changes. However components like thermistors are designed to have a large resistance change with temperature so they can be used as sensors. Normally most resistors are designed to have a very small change of resistance with temperature.

hello Mr. I ask your permission to share your video in my channel to my student
@ElectronicsNotes3 жыл бұрын
Can I suggest a link to the video as I don't want copies to appear around the Internet. Thanks.

I try to reply to most, but I get quite a few these days with the channel growing so I can’t reply to everyone.
