What Are People Wearing in London? (Fashion Trends 2024 Street Style Ep.136)

This was very east London fashion, it’s very mix and match thrifty vibes. If you head north you’ll see some more hipster and scene/alt fashion around Camden. South you see a more clean fashion, clean lines and colour blocking, Brixton and Clapham Common you’ll see different approaches to the clean mindset with street wear or more smart/casual. West is also thrifty but with an effort to look smart/casual, lots of vintage jumpers and coats with collard shirts around Notting Hill. Central towards Westminster you’ll find lots more tailored suits and professional dress and towards Covent Garden you’ll get a lot of vintage looks. Obviously these are generalisations, you’ll get a bunch of different styles in London and on the day you visit these areas you might only see tracksuit bottoms and jeans 😂.

U will find every fashion going in London. In Brick lane we call them the Artsy people, they descended awhile back now. a few start up shops went runway too. London is eclectic n progressive, always moving. 5mins away ur in a diffrent hood, its amazing how every hood has a different mood 🙏

Can second this. Born and bred Hackney, just next door to Shoreditch, and the different vibes in different areas as well as the architectural diversity is one of my favourite parts of the city. The reason East is so edgy and street is because of it's history as a high crime/low income area, which made it attractive to immigrants (big Jamaican, Turkish, African and Polish pop., but a mix from all over), as well as artists and creatives looking for low rent. This lead to a big community atmosphere, and a lot of radical social and artistic movements, plastering the streets with its trademark graffiti+murals. Because of this, it's attracted a lot of like-minded but more wealthy people who've both gentrified and contributed to the local culture, leading to today's population of art students and middle-class, left-leaning families who've either lived here since the 90s or have been wealthy enough to buy in late. High prices, just like the rest of London, but it's definitely gone more down the route of a city like New York, and gentrification has mostly managed to avoid sanding off its edges. For now.
