This lecture will teach you the essentials about planetary boundaries as well as the updated (2023) version called Earth System Boundaries. To better understand the tradition and context from which "planetary boundaries" arose, reference is made to the idea of "Limits to Growth" from the 1970s. Earth System Boundaries as a concept is related to the Anthropocene and Gaia as part of a summary of the three part lecture series.
