These are cell inherent defects occur due to mechanical stress during manufacturing, during transportation or installation, and can have a lasting impact on solar cells and the solar modules. Common types of microcracks that can be made visible in EL testing images include:
Single Crack: A single, isolated microcrack in a solar cell.
Cell Piercing Crack: A micro crack that goes through the entire thickness of the solar cell.
