Great analysis! I'm pretty fluent in Excel and R but wanted to learn more about SPSS and SAS. The chart was especially helpful!

Thanks for the informative video. But why haven't you also commented on Stata? It is even in your graph and seems to perform better than spss and sas recently.

Great question. That program has really grown in the last 5 years

Hey man great video but i wanted ask which one of this mostly used in finance world as i am learning financial modelling that i am being taught on excel most places i have heard mastering is excel is enough
@Dr.ElliottJardin4 жыл бұрын
hey @gaurav, yes make sure that you are comfortable in excel. If you are interested in coding, I would look into python. I have a video on the channel showing you how to download and do some basic stuff. If this sparks your interest, I would consider enrolling in a cheap class on udemy

Was R Studio not out 4 years ago? Because that would be the GUI of R. Also, once you get the hang of R, it is easier than Excel for even a regression analysis (which could be basic or advanced depending on your level).

Hey Sonder, it didn't leave beta until about 6 months after this video (according to a google search that I just did). These days I am a huge fan of JAMOVI. Have you ever tried it? My students pick it up faster than anything else that I've used
@StockSpotlightPodcast4 жыл бұрын
@@Dr.ElliottJardin I will look into this! I find R Studio pretty good, but always open to something new. Thanks for the suggestion :)
@Dr.ElliottJardin4 жыл бұрын
@@StockSpotlightPodcast If you are doing traditional statistics, I find JAMOVI to be the easiest to use free program. For Machine Learning/Data Science I'd stick with R or Python

@@Dr.ElliottJardin Looks pretty cool! And nice job on the video :)

Do you have to know programming (coding) to use R for statistics?
@Dr.ElliottJardin4 жыл бұрын
Hey John, R is a language so you do have to code. However anyone can find the scripts online and just use those. Since the release of this video, The R Universe has released Jamovi, it is a gamechanger. It offers the free open source model, while providing a purely drag and click interface . I can't imagine recommending another interface/program over this one for quite some time

Also, I am curious to know what do you think of STATA?
@Dr.ElliottJardin6 жыл бұрын
Compare STATA to SPSS... but lower cost

what about JASP?
@Dr.ElliottJardin4 жыл бұрын
I like JASP a lot, My favorite new one is Jamovi, it's free and easy to use :)

@@Dr.ElliottJardin thank you so much, i use 0.9.0.1 version of it. My introduction to statistics teacher suggested JASP and R.

have you tried Minitab?
@Dr.ElliottJardin7 жыл бұрын
I haven't used minitab in 8 years so i can't speak to how it has changed in recent years. What I can tell you is that as of then, its functionality most resembled SPSS

Excel is best for graphs!? I respectfully disagree.
@Dr.ElliottJardin6 жыл бұрын
Of these I would say so. More recently I have become a huge fan of Tableau and their data visualization packages. Additionally, the Seaborn library in Python is amazing. Thanks for you input, Jarred. Which program is your favorite for data visualization?
