Sorry to reply so late but that mainly depends on your area. If you live in or around a major city you usually wouldn’t have a hard time. But stay away from Stevenson because they’re real bad at getting you home.

It’s definitely a plus but I believe it’s more so which company aligns with your needs. I’m hearing Prime is a good company as well.

New sub here my g I’ve been trying get into the industry bout year 2 now I have my CDL permits I had 2 company take their invitation back which makes me try even harder I’m a felon n I’m 4 O thank clean off marijuana I feel hair follicle test is holding me back but I know it’s companies that don’t test for hair any pointers where to start my career Asap I want to live life on road I’m ready🧎🏾!!!!

For starters you’ll have to leave the marijuana alone. Although hair follicle test aren’t required by the FMCSA a company can still require it. If your felony is over 7 yrs old don’t put it on your application. If it’s fresh you have to be straight forward and keep trying. Someone will eventually give you a chance. I don’t know what area you’re in but if a company doesn’t want to train you. Try going to places that’s willing to pay for your training. In Texas we have a state programs that will fund your training. Once you obtain your CDL on your own you’ll have a better chance at finding a job. Good luck

Honestly I would pay out of pocket if I had the funds. It will be a great investment plus on February 7th the new law goes into effect and it’s probably going to change how companies take on student drivers. Plus you’ll be under contract with a company for at least a year and trust me you wouldn’t like it. A lot of companies accept training from an accredited school as 6 months to a year of experience. And with the current shortage you shouldn’t have a hard time finding a job.

Sorry I’m not familiar with that area I’m based out of Texas. But most companies that are OTR will hire you from any area unless they don’t run it. It’ll be difficult to get you decent home time. Feel free to email me if you have further questions.

I heard they started a pilot program allowing for people under the age of 21 to acquire a CDL. You should definitely call around and see if they are offering it in your area. If not 2 yrs will fly by so don’t get discouraged. Once you become a truck driver it will be well worth it.

Yes they will pay for your hotel, you will receive a comdata card once you complete orientation which is 3 days when you arrive there and they will loan you $200 a week for food and supplies. They will reimburse you on how you choose to get to their location since they have 3 across the country. Springfield, MO is their main location where they had me train and test out. Once you complete all the tests, you get a new comdata card and they pay you $900 a week or you can do direct deposit as well

Certain Schools. In Texas you don’t need a permit for raider express or FFE transport. They will help you pass the permit test there.

That was before the new law went into effect in Texas. You can’t do that now in any state.

No I actually went through driver solutions and they sent me to C1 and upon graduation we were contracted to work for Pam transport. I failed the road test 3x because the program was shitty. We were only driving for 3 days before we tested. I did learn how to drive but I was so nervous each time I tested. Roehl has a better program that I highly recommend.

I'm in the Louisville Kentucky area I was looking for a trucking company that would pay for my school. Pay me approximately $500 a week for training. And I understand the investment trucking companies make. But some place I could make a respectable paycheck after training. And I would like to be home at the end of every week or be out 2 weeks and come home for 4 days or so
