I had always taught to avoid 'mouth-to-mouth' as a rule of thumb, even before Covid. I was been told that it had a very limited benefits for an adult patient, and that compressions alone circulated enough air in to and out of the chest to achieve the same result. Also, since compressions are the most important part of the process, it's better to carry out compression-only CPR. Great info though as I'm coming to discover on this channel. I think I'll be binge watching for the next couple of hours

Does the faceshield affects the person's breathing?
@lazarustrainingltd88503 жыл бұрын
Hi, the idea of the faceshield is to be a physical barrier. In the CPR COVID case, the recommendation is to use it, as it may limit the movement of any particles being exhaled by the casualty. They may being forced into "exhaling" during chest compressions, it's not necessarily a sign of life, return of breathing etc. Hope this helps!

Hello, I am a first aider in SA and I wanted to know, for the adults, is there any scenario in which we will need to perform mouth to mouth i.e. if they have compromised lungs etc and we are aware of it at the time we need to perform cpr?
@lazarustrainingltd88503 жыл бұрын
Hi, nothing that comes to mind straight away- it seems to be working to the idea that adults more commonly suffer a primary cardiac arrest [ie the heart packs up causing the problems]. With children it can often be a prmiary respiratory arrest, so worthwhile giving the mouth to mouth. Let me know if you are worried about a specific issue- emai us on info@lazarustraining,co.uk
