What are the differences between deli, wax, parchment and tissue papers?

For Australians watching, parchment paper is baking paper here, rolls of grease proof paper from woollies or coles for about $1.20 a roll it can be used instead of deli paper, Amazon Australia now has some boxes of deli paper for sale as well. I only add this info as I’ve been frustrated for so long on the different names in different countries and it was a big day for me when I discovered cheap old grease proof paper is a sub for expensive to us deli paper

⁠@@suziabdolali1612 I’ve just been using Coles greaseproof paper for my gelli printing and collage papers and it’s great not the baking paper .. hope that helps.

I have used deli paper as a palette for my acrylic paints for years; easy clean up - just throw it away. I also love to paint on it and use it in collage - easy to punch out flowers and/or leaves, etc.

Wet strength tissue paper is also available from Carnival Papers in UK, also on Amazon. They're larger sheets 50 x 76cm designed not to fall apart when wet.

It is hard to explain. It has a very thin type of coating but not thick like wax paper.

I'm from the UK and I've never been able to find Deli paper in shops, even in the baking section. Nobody seems to know what I'm talking about. 😞 Also the parchment paper that you iron is called freezer paper over here. 🇬🇧. It's all terribly confusing but your video took away some of the confusion. 😁

I know it is so confusing depending on where you are in the world. Freezer paper in the US in nothing like parchment paper. 😩 I use a specific brand of construction paper (TruRay) and discovered that in other places in the world it is called sugar paper. I had never heard of that.

If you look at Jackson’s Art Shop in Putney London, they have stocked Deli paper in the past. They do an efficient mail order service.

There's deli paper available on Ebay UK - I buy it all the time. Also US parchment paper = UK baking paper (UK freezer paper is the same as US freezer paper - you can use it as a carrier sheet by ironing tissue paper or fabric to it and run it through your printer.)
