Depends on the cruise line. Even some sister companies have major differences -- such as Celebrity and Royal. I know many people that have moved between Celebrity, Royal, NCL, Carnival, etc... and while it's different everywhere, it's also mostly the same.

The fact you guys have to get out of line and go behind guest if they come inline behind you is so odd
@RaisaLynn4 жыл бұрын
It’s the same if we’re watching a show/movie. If a guest comes in and there are no seats, you are to give up your seat and stand. If a crew member working the show noticed you didn’t, you can get into trouble. 🙃
@mrosenblatt4 жыл бұрын
It's the same policy at Royal and Celebrity. Guests come first -- Making a guest wait behind crew tends to agitate guests. They feel like they paid, so they get to go first. Using the guest areas is considered a privilege, not a right. The amount of crew that don't ever get to set foot in guest areas to begin with it also pretty staggering.
@dh22664 жыл бұрын
As a guest, I would feel very awkward seeing someone get out of line and get behind me. I'd rather you stay in line where you were.

Not sure what you’re talking about. Contracts vary between 4-5 months, then you get “vacation” where you are flown home. That time are all your days off in one and you don’t get paid.

I have my final interview for cruise line im unsure if I will pass medical with me being plus size. Did your ship have any plus size people
@RaisaLynn2 жыл бұрын
I was a little nervous about the water safety drill, because you need to be able to flip an overturned life raft and other things, but overall I was okay being overweight on the ship. It was a lot of standing and going up and down stairs, so I can not stress having good shoes enough.
@amandacaroline37142 жыл бұрын
@@RaisaLynn thank you my concern Is passing medical as I’m overweight but my jobs right now it’s physical so I’m used to running on my feet all day. I run community projects so lots of lifting etc

$40 for Palo???? GRRR Disney makes me crazy
@RaisaLynn4 жыл бұрын
In what way? Is that too much or too little? I honestly never know how much the guests pay to eat there.
@JimmyA784 жыл бұрын
When I first started cruising Palo was $10 per person. When I sailed the Dream last year it was $30 per person and was horrible. I was so let down - it was my wife and I’s anniversary dinner. Not worth the $80 we spent with a tip. Would’ve rather had Outback Steakhouse for $60 out the door.
@RaisaLynn4 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry to hear that. For the crew, that's the best meal we could hope to eat during our contract. Sometimes it's given to us as a reward, but you can only go on certain nights, as to not take tables away from guests.
@JimmyA784 жыл бұрын
Like Pirate Night! haha that’s the night we had bad service. Food was mundane at best.

Its nice they gave nice perks and you got to enjoy a part of the Cruise like the guests. But I wouldn't doubt it was a lot of hard work probably 80% of the time.
@RaisaLynn4 жыл бұрын
True, we don't have fewer than 70 hours a week. 0 Days off. My biggest issue is that not all crew get to enjoy those perks, it all depends on your job rank.
@seanestes20044 жыл бұрын
@@RaisaLynn Wow and I thought 48 hrs 6 days a week sucked. Do you get Overtime Pay on the extra 30 hrs a week you'd have to work?
@RaisaLynn4 жыл бұрын
Yes, but Disney is not subject to US laws on overtime pay on their ships because the fleet is flagged in the Bahamas.
