I met an old hippie dude a few months back who told me “I have a barn full of Levi’s” Met up with him and sure enough he had about 20 garbage bags full of vintage usa Levi’s and other denim in his barn. Deadstock, distressed; 70s, 80s and 90s, shorts, jackets, overalls. Biggest find of my life. He used to drive around the county buying up all the Levi’s they could find at thrift stores. Bought up everything he had. Approximately 200 pair.

First time seeing your video. I have a pair of male Levi big....E that I was pressured into buying by my roommates while in college in 1969 but, I can never bring myself to wear them so I boxed them up and have had them ever since. I always like to look dressy when I went to class. I thought about giving them to my grandson when he get old enough and big enough to wear them ... He's only 12. After reading different articles I found out that they may be worth quite a bit of money that I can add to my retirement 😎 they're indigo blue, leather tag with two horses, big E red tag and the threading is yellow and orange or rust color my eyes aren't the best anymore 🤣 on the pocket there's a stitching that's very small that looks like a diamond in the point v tip, there's five pockets but one of the pockets are very small I guess it could be for a watch, there's two rivers on the left side pocket, two rivers on the right pocket and two rivers on the little watch pocket, the waist is 32 in and length is 34.

Will you or do you have a video on special/limited release Levi's? I have a pair of a Andy Warhol series that are pretty interesting but I come across other interesting Levi's that I have never seen before but I never know if they are legit. I came across a pair the other day that were called Levi's Worker Blue Toms Jeans with what looked like a metal badge where the regular patch would be, but I wasn't sure if they were fakes or not. Hey man, just wondering something. How reliable is ebay with so-called "vintage" denim? From my understanding, if it's big "E", then there shouldn't be a care tag. Is this correct, because of the time period? Also I've seen trucker jackets saying vintage from the 70's with handwarmer pockets. Does this make sense to you?
@LootFam8 ай бұрын
ebay can be wild with misinformation. I've found Big E's as late as 1980. So you just have to be careful.

I have womans pair of Ribcage straight, They say Levi's premium and on the red tab on the back it has a large E. Are they worth anything?
@LootFam2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, those are a modern pair. Levi's has begun to reuse the Big E for their "Premium" line of jeans. They are higher quality and the ribcage straight is a popular style so they are probably 30-40 but they are unfortunately not vintage. Still cool!

I’ve been watching some of your videos on Levi’s and have some questions if you don’t mind. Thanks for these videos btw!! 1. You mentioned rare big sizes being worth more- can you elaborate a little. I live in KY and I’m wondering if I’ve been blessed or cursed with all these big size Levi’s. I see loads of 34-38 waists but I am also often finding 42-48 waists. Are these big enough to be worthwhile and are there certain big styles that resell better than others? 2. My new found Levi’s 505 orange tabs don’t have a care tag or any other tag in the inside of the pant. There’s no indication tags have been cut out. Have you found any other info in regards to dating them? Mine do not say Made in USA on the leather tag.
@LootFam3 жыл бұрын

Thanks for sharing all your knowledge and making these videos! I’ve been a big fan of thrifting since I was a teen but recently have become more interested in the actual history of the clothing and your videos have been super helpful in learning about vintage clothing and what makes things special and or valuable! I live in Canada so most of the vintage Levi’s I’ve found at the thrift store are made here and I was curious if you have any thoughts or insight on Levi’s made in Canada? I’ve found some pairs that are really cool to ME but I’ve been wondering if they’re considered any less or more special/interesting/valuable to a Levi’s fan because they were produced in Canada. The care tags also seem to read a bit different from Levi’s produced elsewhere from what I can tell and which makes them tricky to date. I’d love to hear your thoughts! Thanks again for the videos!
@LootFam2 жыл бұрын
Hey Marvin! You're are totally right about Canadian made Levi's. There are some interesting 70s Canadian made Levi's, particularly with the Fresh Produce line that was popular. The care tags between USA-made and Canadian-made are different. Unfortunately, I haven't yet been able to put together a consistent rubric to read the tags like we do with USA made. I'm definitely working on it. If you ever have a pair you have questions about email me some photos at lootfam1@gmail.com. I'd love to see as many as I can. Thanks for watching!

@@LootFam thanks for the reply! I think most of the pairs I’ve picked up have been from the late 90s as far as I can tell so they probably aren’t anything too rare or interesting but I’d love to email you some photos just to get your take!

I just found your videos and they’re awesome. I was just wondering if I ever do run into an old pair of Levi ww2 or older, how do I sell them? Is that something you put on eBay or do you go with a auction house? I’ve never ran into anything that valuable but I do run into some pretty good clothes at local auctions, cheap, so never say never.
@LootFam3 жыл бұрын
Ebay is a good one, probably the best unless you can get your item to Japan or somewhere with very high demand. If you ever found jeans of those quality then I'd find someone to assess them, if they are particular excellent examples then you may consider an auction house, but ebay will likely suffice in most cases.

My man I may need your advice yet again. I sourced a pair of black Levis 501xx today with a big E on the tab, but my instincts tell me these jeans should not have care tags, yet they do (which are also in at least English and Chinese). They really don’t seem like fakes, I can usually tell those just by feel, but at the same time I feel like something doesn’t add up. Has Levi’s reproduced “Big E” jeans at some point? I know vintage 501xx’s have, but I had assumed they would have little e’s on the tab. Love the vids

Hi Loot Fam!! I love your videos!! I have a pair of Levi's 90's 550 Women's "Mom" jeans that are from 1993 brand new with the tags and there is this label/ticket that's on it. When I look up comps on Ebay etc..I can't find any with this label. I don't want to undersell them. Do you have any idea what i'm talking about lol. Also They say Jr. which I believe to be juniors, which I'm confused cause arent these supposed to be mom jeans haha. I really hope you see this comment and can help :) Regardless thank you so much for your videos!!! :)
@LootFam2 жыл бұрын
Hey Alexis! If you want you can send some photos to lootfam1@gmail.com. The whole "Juniors" thing on 90s levi's was kind of a misnomer imo. Most of the time the Junior sizes fit adults just fine. In fact, it's the smaller sizes that sell the best. If your pair is between 24-29 waist, I'd expect $60-100. Larger than that would be more like 30-60.
