Loved this! That vision sequence at the start was wonderful - I look forward to getting zero sleep tonight because of it! The whole video was super interesting: breaking down the different elements you can weave in to a vision is something that I've just added to (yet another) index card. I'm looking forward to giving my players some much-levelled-up visions when we play next. Also thank you so much for the shout out 💚greetings from sunny Scotland - there's someone in your corner all the way across the sea! I can't wait to see where you go with this channel, and I love the creativity and genuinely deep thought which goes into each video! Your style of longer-form visions are something I should try more. I really enjoy giving players super short visions when they're downed in combat and find themselves out of the action. It's a great opportunity for portents of the future, or messages from their patron/deity. They'd usually be only 30 seconds long so as not to disrupt the combat too much. I had a fun situation where a player actually wanted to fail a death save so they could get another installment of the vision!

Hey Rich! I am glad you enjoyed the video! And hey, I should be the one thanking you. You encouraged me to give it my best, and gave me advice on a bunch of stuff which I really appreciate! This video wouldn't exist without your support! Thank you! On the topic of visions, i talk about these visions being up to 1-2 minutes long ...but I think 30 seconds also works very well! You can just put less stuff into them, but they can still pack a punch! Love the story of your player failing the death save...that got me thinking...if they fail that save in the middle of combat, they could enter a vision with agency - a dream...and do things on their initiative order to get the info from the vision and ultimately save themselves! - That is going into the next video for sure! Have you ever run dreams? What would you say are some interesting aspects of it that you think might be useful exploring in a vid?
