What Are Voltage Divider Circuits?

Why would you want to use a high impedance device as a load between the resistors if the divider gives 5 volts. Thanks

If you put a low impedance device as the load then the voltage will no longer be 5 volts. The load is the same as adding a further resistor in parallel with R2 and effectively reducing R2 and reducing the voltage. Hope that makes sense.....
