What Are We Listening To For Enjoyment, 2 Channel Or Movies On Our Setups?

I'm watching TV Shows and Movies in the evening almost every day and listen to Tidal Dolby Atmos music recently. OMFG, Channa, I started singing that song exactly at the same time 😂😂😂 P.S. Listening to "Welcome to the Jungle" in Atmos RN.

I play halo or street fighter (sound off) online while I listen to music. I can do that for hours.

The best time for me is working out in the home gym. Otherwise i might get one movie or show per week.

I've been at this "audiophile" thing since the early 90s. I appreciate your honesty but I don't know how much I can respect reviews from people who cannot sit down, listen to a piece of music and enjoy it. That's a big problem with myself, in regards to the quest for some 'perfect' sound. I'm not interested in it anymore. Just want to enjoy the music.

Joe here. I don't have time to listen for personal pleasure because often, I'm listening when I'm reviewing a piece of gear. There are only so many hours in a day.

I have speakers in every room so I can listen to music no matter what I am doing. I watch movies in the theater in the evenings or if I don't have to work during the day. Total time split is probably 60/40 music vs movies. My car is mostly for listening to podcasts, probably because my car system is not great.

A glass of Chardonnay with a tightly rolled doobie listening to my tidal playlists with the ambient lighting setting the scene, and I'm all good for the night. Even though my audiophile grade 5.2.4 setup, which if I don't mind saying myself sounds amazing (especially at low volumes), it actually only gets used 20% of the time. Normally, that would be kinda sad. Not unless the other 80% is 2 channel stereo music 😎

That’s why the hifi industry is shrinking. Why spend all the money on a system if you don’t have the time or money to listen to it. Young people can’t afford it and old people are too busy working to listen to it.
