Anyone who visits Syria has my respects. The horrific scenes we witnessed on Internet and then someone daring to travel there has to have balls. You my friend have big ones. And seems you were awarded with fantastic experience. Its such a surprise that many places survived the carnage.

I think it's really nice if you to engage in something completely new, with people whom many would avoid- especially not knowing them well. I had four Syrian teachers as a kid in Miami and I learned much about Syria before the war and how beautiful it was. Maybe they will rebuild.

In Canada, my friend from Syria just had this kind of wedding tonight and it was such a blast. Honestly I thought it was like the bachelor party as I was completely unknown to Syrian traditions. Very few citizens are able to live a good life, in particular they are War profiteers . Bashar Al Assad has killed more than 500.000 people and he displaced more than 10 million people according to UN statistics. We do not have Syrian Government. believe me the members of what called Syrian Government are puppets in the hand of Al-Assad family. "Mokhabarat" or national security has almost 13 branches and each branch is acting as independent government and each one is reporting to Bashar Al Assad. WE DON'T HAVE GOVERNMENT. we have MAFIA

Your pronunciation is great. But u must know not everyone chooses to have a sex-separated wedding. My family don't like these kind of weddings and we never had such a wedding. Men and women dance together like shakira or like anything or anyone else. So it's a personal choice but ppl with more open minded non-religious modern mentality prefer sex-mixed weddings.especially when the woman doesnt wear head scarf.
