That era of Liverpool was humiliating, fair play to Stevie for sticking around while being surrounded by dross. (To clarify I am talking about the hodgson era and Brendan Rodgers final season, losing 6 to Stoke, having to play with ballotelli, Lambert, voronin, poulsen, etc) I am not talking about his whole Liverpool career, Gerrard played in some good LFC teams, calm down.

Stevie does not need to make any amends. He gave it all for the shirt. He gave more for the club than any player has ever given to anyone in history. He is and will remain by far and away the greatest footballer to have played on British soil. He is the only player to have literally confirmed and reiterated that he would die for the club. If and when Liverpool employs the man, it is the club that is doing a huge favour rather than the other around.

How many of those 7 signings brought in for the Suarez money actually turned out to be half decent? Clyne and Lallana gave us a few good years but that's about it imo.

Origi is a cult hero. Lovern was a starter and I compare his time with Liverpool to Jones at United. Gave it all but at times an utter calamity. He actually was decent next to van dijk.

@@leonleon2276 I am and the general opinion from people in Liverpool at the time was we thought we should be winning more and should have been bigger but the early 00s until maybe part way through the Rodgers era we were run awfully, could not hold on to top players for very long and had alot of forgettable players playing average football every week. We all know Stevie stayed bc he was one of us and hoped something would change not bc he realistically thought it would.

I’m a Liverpool fan and frankly I don’t get it. It’s basically complaining about why we aren’t more like city, when we have never had a model like city, nor can we under the current owners. Also the model city has is not something that is usually possible in a well run business. People just want parachute money and shiny sightings regardless of whether the money actually exists for Parachute money or shiny signings
