10:00 I could be mistaken but I think they are talking about Firefly here and Robin is still 'spiritually dead'. We initially think the mute is referring to Robin because of her lost voice (someone who can't make a sound) but in actuality Sparkle was talking about how Sam/Firefly have to follow Elio's script and can't act on their own (someone who can't speak), with the key to figuring this out being at 12:58 (Aventurine and Acheron figuring out Sam is Firefly). Because of Elio Firefly most likely knew how to return from death and they put on this whole performance to instigate the other characters' actions with Firefly returning as Sam to complete the trick.

The biggest gamble of "Kakavasha's" life...was appealing to Jade/Diamond. The second biggest gamble was getting 'killed' on Penacony. The third will be whether or not he'll be able to return from Penacony's 'Far Side', despite not having access to the Harmony and a now-broken Cornerstone. Naturally, I'm betting on him - he never loses, of course~ Gallagher...well, I have some notes and thoughts for him, but I'll save those for his video, so let's talk about our *other* star performers. Firefly and Robin really should go on stage together when this whole mess is done 'cause these ladies are simply a class all their own. Robin is - *evidently* the smartest person on Penacony, since she basically had 2/3rds of the plot figured out before the quest even started. The question now is simply 'where is she being held'? As for Firefly, the only thing we know about her that could explain how she failed to die 11 times is her Entropy Loss Syndrome. The working theory for me right now is that Firefly is gradually becoming a 'fixed point'; while the Universe around her 'moves forward in time', she's at risk of being simply...left behind. That's why she needs the Sam Armor, its heat 'reintroduces' entropy into her, allowing her to function like a normal being again. But this would also explain why she can't get to the Far Side on her own; she can get infinitely *close* to passing beyond but her condition keeps snatching her back at the last 'second'. That's why, after being """killed""", she slapped on her armor and raced back to the scene and dared Acheron to draw her sword on her - an Emanator's slash is presently Firefly's best chance to break through.

ah entropy loss syndrome is a good catch i hadnt considered. originally i was thinking it may have had something to do with firefly being born without the ability to dream while also coming to the land of dreams, but thats all there was to that idea lol. but entropy loss is something that certaintly makes ur unique from the others, and would explain why Elio might have known her solo mission was doomed before it even began

This speculation is pretty well built, but we also need to ask another question: *did robin even get out?* We assume off of aventurine’s gamble and talk with Acheron, that Robin got out of the land of exile, and is being held in the dreamscape, but what if she didn’t? A mute is easier to keep quiet with bounded, and when your in the land of exile, your main body is presumed dead, like how Aventurine got cut from his cornerstone, and Sunday thinks Robin is dead, and basically went even more crazy due to that. What if Robin is entrapped inside the land of exile? So far we haven’t seen any sort of evidence to support her rewaking. If we did, I don’t think Sunday would be as big of a lunatic as he is rn. And if so, could explain why the Legacy has never been found: because the family has been silencing whoever would come across it. (Which up till now; has been nobody since they had no suspicions; besides Mikhail and his group.) Gallagar is a very interesting topic which I’m also going to bring up in the next vid, but what I really want to bring up is that “brother” statement he gave Sunday: Are they actually biologically relate? And if so, how? Looking back, it seems more like a family pact, similar to the family, but formed from sweat and tears, not blood. If this is the case, it could also explain why he killed Robin, or opposite, it’s because of this relationship that he killed her, because it was going to allow her to get deeper into the truth. Anyway, I believe that the family is keeping Robin in the land after she found the truth, “a Mute who cannot speak.” Figuratively, and literally. Idk how Sparkle found this, but I’m assuming it was due to the Mask and Aha, which like Sampo, gives them 4th wall breaking abilities, and in-turn, possibly the ability to see into the future. (In sparkle terms, if your on stage, your following a script, but to be able to see the script while on stage allows you to see what is coming next. They can basically see their own story being written, and where it will go, before it happens, because it was already written by Shaoji.) This could explain why she was bullying aventurine at the start with the hint, to both anger us, the players, but also give aventurine a hint, which he didn’t fully catch. We probably didn’t fully give her credit for how smart she is, being that she’s also known about everything unfolding since before penacony, with her knowing about Robin’s condition to even tell aventurine, and before that, starting a Scavanger hunt with Black swan and Sampo, (which like Sampo did during Belobog, was a clue to the audience. Something that could tell us that death doesn’t exists in penacony, something she knew all along.) but the fact she knows, and isn’t going for it is really ironic, but I’m assuming it has something to do with her sponsee and who she’s hired for which as of now, is still unknown. (I speculated awhile back that it was the Stelleron hunters, b/c she brought both firefly and Trailblazer into the Deep Dreamscape, but with what we know now, I’m willing to bet that she knew about Robin’s past attempts and was going help her to cause her next attempt, to allow her to meet and battle Acheron, which 1. Would give firefly another attempt to pass the barrier and 2. Give us an epic fight scene that would please the players. All of this makes me believe that sparkle is working for a entity not yet revealed, someone who is apart of neither family, nor IPC, but wants a third party to succeed. on the other hand, she’s been helping Aventurine piece everything together, but not outright helping, which is more then what she did for firefly, but I still don’t think that fully it, being that she was trying to recruit Black Swan, someone who was working with Aventurine, but it failed, telling me the prospect of her working with the IPC is low at best. But maybe gallagar is higher, but that’s for another day.) At the end of the day, their are still so many questions. A lot of which has been answer by the 2.1 story quest, and the Other, ironically, is White night, being that it’s Chorus matches almost exactly to Aventurine’s life, and his Final Gamble, of “going to the other side.” Which I believe that part shown during the video is meant to signify that, (I don’t think the 2nd verse is talking about aventurine, but I need to look into it more before I make a firmer conclusion.) Another note to take from white night, is that almost everything that’s happened in the story quest has had some sort of relation to the video: the Acheron Sam fight, Sparkle being around the manipulating from the scenes, Gallagar being kinda evil and apart of everything, aventurine’s evil gamble, and firefly’s death/fall. Most of those scenes are taking inspiration from what actually happens, and if we’re to believe that, the we haven’t seen the dancing trailblazer with Aventurine yet, or more likely, the place Trailblazer found himself in, which I believe is related, or even is the land of exiles. But at this point, I’ve gone off more or my own speculative tangent instead of responding to OP’s comment, and rn. We just don’t have enough info, but we will soon enough, once part 3 comes out. This arc has been really hype, and tbh, I’m glad that the story got better between patches, since that’s really what made HI3 shine. But we’ll have to wait and see the conclusion of this story, in like 2 months.

The interesting thing about the meme, it may not be solely from beyond the barrier. Sundya referencing Gallagher's path of Enigmata is a key detail when recounting Gallagher going over Penacony's history. As this would land us one key faction of Mythus, the aeon of enigmata: the History Fictonologists. While just mentioned, it actually explains a lot about Gallagher and how he himself is 'death' and connected to the meme. Why this particular faction? They have emanators, while unnamed, are referred to in a manner similar to the memokeepers. However, unlike the memokeepers, these historians have a goal that deals in how worlds preserve their histories to such a degree that it can lead to ruin. The fact that they were present during the original watchmaker's time, they have more likely kept an eye and seen how Penacony has slowly been eroding. But why is this a crucial detail? Emanators. Aventurine's gamble isn't so ridiculous when remembering that his cornerstone is directly from that of Diamond, an emanator of Qlipoth and said cornerstone is only a fragment of Diamond's power. Acheron being a full emanator is why Aventurine spews such lies about Acheron, he knows her power would be so crucial. After all, the only thing running around that can send people to the barrier is the 'meme' that has a power that's way to powerful to be just some random entity. Making the educated guess that an emanator's power would be enough to induce the death needed to pass the barrier. it's also why Firefly's 11 attempts do not work nor does Elio make mention of Acheron: Firefly was always destined to die to the meme. Though why would both Aventurine & Acheron know Firefly's backstory? Sam himself isn't hard to detail as that type of armor was strictly used for one purpose, for a failed war against the swarm that records are known by Herta and other members of the Genius Society and more likely, the IPC at large. Given Sam while not given a bounty like Kafka, is still a known Stellaron Hunter. Which the Trailblazer had been associated with before the events of Herta Space Station. More likely they didn't commit any crimes, but were still in relation. With no bounty, lesser IPC grunts wouldn't have any need to pursue and the events across the space station, Belobog, & the Luofu makes it far less likely anyone would pursue the Trailblazer as so much as wiped it from the records abrring those in the IPC who do deal with crime. What's more interesting is considering Robin wasn't killed by the meme, but Gallagher himself. Her wound's color and injury are far more jagged compared to the meme's blade, especially the wound's pink hue. Yet, it's alot closer and matches Gallagher's claw. Not that her body seems to be burned by it. Given Gallagher does have the ability to summon the meme: he more likely chose to do it as Robin in her investigation crossed him and well, he gave her the truth that her brother would desire. Though why not do it to Sunday? Simple. The meme has been killing numerous family members and unlike Robin, who you can replace with Sparkle, Sunday would be a far harder one to slip under the rug and especially after Aventurine's death that has now etched into Penacony's world. This does also mean that Robin was caged as both the truth she learned and the family have been trying to do damage control. Especially as Robin's connection to the Harmony was already being tampered with. Though we can deduce what that is: Penacony's failing infrastructure. Penacony only worked because people harmonized together, yet as people came in and filled it up, more of their negative emotions began to eat away at the foundations. After all, the world was built upon those who were exiled there by the IPC in the first place. And loops back to the History Fictonologists who were there with the Watchmaker. And Gallagher? An enigma created to try and help this world. Oh and we should note that Sunday himself is heavily inspired by Odin. You sees his nightingales which easily fulfill the roles of Odin's ravens. We also need to bring up Sunday isn't a pathstrider of Harmony, no, he's one of order that had been assimilated into Harmony. Why is that important? It means that Sunday's attempts at maintaining order have been blind to the truth of this world. Truths that the families have been keeping hidden away. Gallagher 'shows' him this as Sunday's will has been weakened by Robin's current fate. He has begun to lose his connection to the strings of order within harmony and adding to imbalance. Oh and we also do need to revisit Misha as in one dub, when in memories they refer to the older voice there as his grandfather and more likely Mikhail, who thanks to Gallagher we know has been retained as not just the watchmaker, but as Clockie. The Watchmaker's legacy is undoubtedly involving them and may ultimately be what saves Penacony. The one the families have deemed a traitor, but like he had centuries ago: may be the very entity needed to save it. Though we'll certainly need more to go off of and more likely, Trailblazer will gain the attention of Xipe much in the way they did Qlipoth as surprisingly there's some similarities here between Penacony & Belobog.

i wonder if the key to what’s actually happening in penacony is in ratio’s note: “what’s impossible in a dream is not death but dormancy” - in other languages, this is more explicitly translated as “sleep”. i’m starting to think that the people in penacony aren’t really asleep, and therefore aren’t really dreaming. they experience penacony with their conscious mind, which is different from a dream which is an unconscious experience. it’s more like they’re in a trance or a meditative state, experiencing a surface layer of a daydream. i think firefly’s inability to cross the border has something to do with this. she’s told us and acheron both that she CAN’T dream; therefore if the border is what separates the conscious and unconscious mind, it would make sense that her every attempt has failed. when the dreamer “dies” they cross over into true sleep, the true “rehearsal of death” - and therefore the REAL penacony.

Aventurine planned to go up to Sunday, who mind you is grieving Robin's death (evidence with how he confronted Gallagher + he doesn't know yet that Robin is fine) and wanted to use that grief to gain leverage over Sunday and The Family and take back Penacony for the IPC. Robin is stated to be Sunday's only remaining family... That is also evil shit. What Aventurine was planning to do was not cool in the slightest. Aventurine had watched Robin die before him and still wanted to use her. Even if she isn't dead, that's still messed up. But I do acknowledge that what Sunday did to Aventurine was insane. He shouldn't have done that and mocked Aventurine. They are both in the wrong, and you can't can't call a character evil just on their actions alone.

I believe the reason Sunday is so distrought about Robin's spiritual death is because it was mentioned that those who spiritually died go into a coma in real life and dont wake up. And with them having other victoms over the years Sunday probably doesnt know that you can wake up from the coma. Acheron has mentioned that returning from the abyss is not guarenteed and from Sparkle we know only 2 people have been able to return, Robin and another man who is probably the Watchmaker. This is likely not common knowledge even for the family. So far as Sunday is aware his sister is gone for good.

One thing I believe Gallagher is trying to do is show the true behind the Harmony to all family members since he is associated to the Meme. My only question is: Where the fuck is Silver Wolf in all this? And why can't she enter the "land of exile" instead of Firefly? Too busy gaming? My girl didn't even get a single voice line in 2.1. I really hope she'll get a lot more screen time in 2.2 because that scene in the beginning of Penacony hasn't happened yet. I think she's "in the van," so to speak. Firefly needs a way into the dreamscape that isn't monitored by the Family (also possibly needs special extra measures to get there since she was "born without the ability to dream"), so Silver Wolf is there hacking her into the system. She has to stay in the real world to maintain whatever jerry-rigged dream pool she put together.

I thought "The mute who came back" was refering to Firefly, not Robin, due to the thing that she can't move as freely anymore and became a part of the world somehow in a way she can't do anything (as if she was shackled like Aveturine was) and because of Sunday seemingly belivieing Robin is dead 🤔 Idk, until we get a clearer answer on who is who since the two Mutes are female I will stand on my head-canon that Robin and Avneturine are both now in the Deep dreamscape and will become Besties, I like that Idea 😂

What does Robin elude to with there being a traitor in the midst of the family? Either she picked up a hunch that Gallagher (head of the Bloodhound Family) is going against upholding the dream by forcing people beyond the barrier using his Meme Death pet, or even there's a Family head / senior we haven't met yet that's going against everyone, OR Sunday himself is the reason the Harmony is in discord by trying to uphold a dream that is not working out (by imprisoning the mute Robin and probably others before). The latter is incredibly unlikely, because he'd go against his sister whom he seems to love incredibly dearly. Also, I doubt Hoyo has the gall to make him an ace villain Maybe Misha ties into this all. As we heard in 2.0, Black Swan posits the possibility Watchmaker's ghost is still in Penacony. Maybe that is Misha? Misha is a baby name version of Mikhail in Russian. We've seen way too little about him and it's making me sus.

It's just the family building an enclosed filtered and curated operating system dream with parental controls in lvl1 on top of a lvl0 bios level subconscious dream. If you can imagine pain and suffering then it obviously exists in dreams but the family put a kiddy filter in their program and thus it's not supposed to exist in their lvl1 curated dream. They prevent you from switching to a different lvl1 dream and shut you down on exiting their dream but If you do encounter death meme it crashes you out of the family's os leaving you in the raw lvl0 and the family probably does not want you fucking around with their bios for various reasons. Technically there's probably an underlying individual layer, firmware, first then your subconscious dream which the family dips in memoria and links together with others creating the lvl0 bios and then they route your consciousness from what your subconscious would normally create for you to their custom lvl1 os where you can choose between 12hours(programs). Lvl0 is the blue sea we get lost in originally and shown at the end of 2.1 when we meet firefly, but we never get to explore it cuz obviously #1 you're not supposed to and #2 the family doesn't want you to. You could think of meme or acheron kill as a crash for a dream and it loads you into the bios. And you can do pretty much what you want in bios. Such as launching yourself in a different older pirated os (the real penacony, the land of exile) that lets you access all the hidden data that the family's os didn't let you. such as the true history of penacony and watchmaker's legacy. But most people probably don't know how to launch an os leaving them unable to shut down and wake up thus ending comatose. Depending on how hoyo chooses to handle this they can either say that you can't wake comatose people up or their spirit will remain stuck in the dream or they can let people force wake you and you'll just be really confused. Considering Sunday is angry it's either lost soul route or the hidden data is so bad Robin will live the rest of her life in fear. Dreamweavers are the game devs of penacony and the family heads probably have admin access letting them change some stuff in lvl0 from lvl1. Guests have guest accounts with parental controls enabled so you can only run the 12 approved programs. I overcomplicated this didn't I?

this is a part of what ive commented yesterday the memes name "something unto death" if im englishing right means something like death but not death exactly. I think it's safe to say that Gallagher is not the real villain in this story. First of all, someone who's playable cannot be an actual enemy. It's also stated that the enemy is someone from The Family, and it was revealed this Gallagher isn't what he is. Sunday referred to him as an Enigmata Follower but we can't confirm that yet.

In a way yes. People who die in Penacony are not actually dead. They are sent to the real penacony. Even early in the quest Aventurine said that family gas taken precautions to where if residents do die in the dreamscape they simply wake up so yes no one is actually dead.

Once again someone who doesn't read....or listen Sam/firefly says she has tried to REACH PAST THE BARRIER 11 TIMES. In order to reach pass the barrier you need to have died but she did not know what type of death you actually needed in order to reach it. There is no loop hole to reaching the otherside YOU NEED TO HAVE A SPIRITUAL DEATH IN ORDER TO GET THERE. Robin 's "death" confirms this, Aventurine himself even figures it out as well which why he went through all of this inorder for Acheron to kill him. Even in the first animated scene Firefly/Sam wants Acheron to use her sword but she doesn't. She knows Acheron has the capability to send her where she wants to go but Acheron doesn't send her there. Unless you know a different way to reach the real penacony Firefly/Sam Has died numerous times to try and get there but to no effect.
