I think by now enough played the 2.0 mission Long Day's Journey into Night and while some may say that Firefly is an NPC in Honkai: Star Rail. however I and many others think she is more then that. regardless firefly may be dead (allegedly) but given she died in the dream world, I highly doubt it. Regardless Penacony and 2.0 is here for honkai star rail, and given its rich with lore I figuered a story recap is in order before we can talk about the fun stuff concerning firefly, acheron, black swan and aventurine. also someone give me honkai star rail leaks for acheron gameplay please man im begging. also we got to see dr. ratio again so that was nice, and sparkle turned out to be more foolish then I thought mihoyo was capable of lol.

Some weird thing I noticed that I don't think anyone has talked about yet is that the first dream bubble scene with Pom Pom judging us where we can choose who's voice we want to take is almost exactly an alternative version in narrative to the Jepella Rebellion interrogation against Kafka. The trailer is titled "Scene 47", yet Pom Pom mentions 46 different cases of what we've done, similar to Kafka's interrogation. The kind of judgement and theme put upon us is also quite similar to what is happening in that trailer. I do not know WHY or HOW they are connected with each other, but it oddly sticked out a lot.

Idk how relevant this detail is, but "Misha" is a diminutive of the Russian name "Mikhail." Just wanted to put that out there because Misha conveniently appears during several important events (e.g., entering Penacony, The Reverie, Firefly and Acheron meeting). Then we enter a dreamscape that keeps on calling "Mikhail". The game is also very insistent on following Sparkle's movements closely like her importance is heavy, but remember that her whole character theme is that of a red herring. Everyone is misdirecting us, and Sparkle seems to be at the forefront. Also, just like Clockie, no one actually sees Misha. It's an easy detail to gloss over because it just seems like everyone ignores him.

@@kyokosakura3192 that almost aligns with Firefly's theory that the Watchmaker was a Nameless. The invitation had the distress signal that only the Nameless know of. Misha's grandfather was known for being an intergalactic adventurer and hinted to be good at creating and fixing things.

The only instance they talk in detail was about the invitation's distress signal. Also, his character story is still a bit of a mystery. Ofc, we can't assume he's been invisible his entire life. If anything, his story adds more questions to his identity.

In general, I feel like the trashcan incident is a huge allegory to Penacony as a whole. The Trash Prince is probably referring to Misha, and we know that he basically trapped in another form by Tatalov, the Trash King. When Trash Prince is freed, he decides to avenge his father, but if we read the trash interactions in Boulder Town, it's implied that the Trash King is the Trash Prince's father figure (I'm saying father figure because the specific words used were "I raised you," not "I am your father") Then, if Misha is the Trash Prince, who is Tatalov? One of the official trailers seems to imply it is the Watchmaker. The Trash King turned all evil because he was distracted by an object from the "skies" (or something by the lines of that). That sounds a lot like Cocolia's case, and it is further confirmed by the fact that the Trailblazer, who contains a Stellaron, literally fell out of the sky early on in the story. So it seems that the Watchmaker had to deal with some Stellaron trouble. But then I'm kind of confused because we know that Penacony dealt with the Stellaron, ruining their relationship with the IPC in the progress, and from the way things sound, it seems like a recent event.

The reason why that first Akivili dream bubble is important is because we get a full confirmation that Aha was a Trailblazer. how do we know this? Because it was Aha who blew up half the Astral Express train cabins, and in the dream sequence, we get confirmation from Pom-Pom that there was an Astral Express Trailblazer passenger that was "worse" than Akivili, the one who destroyed half the entire train. I mean, technically we already knew this, but we also really didn't know the timeline for this. It shows that Akivili was still alive much closer than we anticipated and puts into perspective how far out they were from when the three crewmates left the train to be on Penacony. Remember, the Astral Express was found nearly completely destroyed by Himeko who fixed it up and became its Navigator fairly recently.

Also, hot take, but misha is definitely related to the watchmakers legacy. As he is aware of and can see clockie and the birds who we also see in the "real" Penacony who hint they are protecting clockies home. Also, his eyes are literally keyholes, so....ya.

Also there is theory that other than us no one cominicated with misha personaly. Like in most situations people other than us ignor him. When you meet acheron with misha you can choose that you know all of them, and firefly ask what we mean by them as if she also don't see misha.

actually people have noticed something regarding this, and its actually that Acheron is sensing Misha, Not Clockie, as she's actually looking directly at where Misha should be in that scene when she says she senses someone. that gangster mob scene also has what seems to be a translation error as they say "Him" in english, while saying "Her" in other languages. so in EN it looks like they're referring to Misha, but because Misha cannot be seen at all(more evident when he doesn't say anything else while Acheron and Firefly are talking after the mob leaves), they're actually referring to Acheron.

This story was actually the most engrossed ive been yet in the entirety of Star Rail, i just loved it so much with all the elements within it that kinda just meshed so well together and it wasnt boring at all. Firefly genuinely made me so happy and excited for the story ever since i saw her in the trailers and the ost mv for white knight. And i fell in love with her in the story. My heart ached when she told us about her illness. and it broke when... *THAT* scene happened.... I still can't believe it man. But then after all that Sam showing up and being all epic too, the fight scene of Sam vs Acheron was sick too. So many emotions, it reminds me when i was playing Honkai Impact all over again. Thanks alot Shaoji. seriously though, he's such a good story writer. Even if he has traumatized so many of us. I genuinely can't wait for the next part of the story to be released, i need to know what happens to Firefly, more on Acheron and what Aoen she is an emanator of (and the Aeon itself), Sam in general, and of course just waiting on when we gonna get Hat Trailblazer. So hyped.

We knew her for all of an hour or two, hung out with her touring a few zones, then just like our last planetary guide, but in 1/100th the time, she was killed. We spent almost no time with her, and know almost nothing about her, or even if she's anything more than a set of memories. Nothing about her story or fate felt earned or impactful. I felt way more impact from Dan Shu, Todd, TY Kluzer, etc. and their deaths, as we actually know more about each of them and spent about as much if more time with them.

Spoilers from the black swan + sparkle character quest we learn that death in the dreamscape is basically waking up. Which make sense for sunday's indifferent reaction at the end. But I think bcs of the whole it's dramatic actual death vibe they gave us, ig the death in the memory zone meme/caused by the death monster can cause some physical harm to their actual body in reality. Maybe robin was killed by the monster before which caused her voice irl to b off. This is just a guess. Fun fact, u can actually tells that sampo isn’t sampo right off the bat when he mistook firefly as march.

What? Sunday isn't even remotely indifferent; the dude is barely containing his rage, and effectively tells Sparkle to "fck off" with mocking his dead sister. What we actually learn is that Something Unto Death brings "spiritual death," which mirrors their ability in-combat to one-shot characters and effectively kidnap their soul. This is also why Sunday is so angry but in control; he knows that his sister is effectively half-dead but that there’s still something that can be done about it. The reason Robin’s voice is off is the same as to why Sampo’s voice is off: in both cases it’s actually Sparkle. Also, what we learnt in the BW/Sparkle companion quest is that Firefly most likely faked her own death and used Sam as an excuse to erase any possible evidence.

Sunday said the memory zone creature brings spiritual death specifically rather than actual death so I think Firefly is still technically alive in the real world. Whether or not she can be 'spiritually revived' I'm not as sure about. They put in a lot of scenes and dialogue afterwards that makes it seem like she's permanently gone, so if they revive her I'm worried it will be done in a way that feels cheap.

I call it now penacony is in fact a prison created by the watchmaker who dreams it's existance and we are in a dream even in reality until he wakes up and shows penacony for what it truly is that's when we will need the power of the harmony to rescue everyone there. Firefly and Sam are the same person however the girl or better said firefly has a split personality thats why both of them dream together Sam/Firefly will reach there true potential when they accept eachother in the dreamscape or sam accepts he is firefly making him turn into his true form with the firefly wings like in the trailer against archeon who at this point is maybe the reason the watchmaker is about to wake up

Here's some of my complete crackpot theories and thoughts after 2.0 - Firefly and Sam are heavily connected. I think Sam might be an AI or something inside the mech suit, and Firefly can't exist outside the suit in the real life, but in dream they can be separate. Theres way too many similarities/connections between Firefly and Sam for them to not have some significance. Also, no chance Firefly is actually dead. - Acheron is probably emanator of Xipe, also I feel like there is a connection between her and Something unto death, as they share the eye design. I think Acheron will be the main "villain" for Penacony, though I don't think she's evil. - I think from the moment we jump with the train in the beginning, we are in the dream world, and everything from that point on is a dream, even the parts we are told are reality. I think it has something to do with the dream collapsing and the high concentration of memory particles or whatever they were called around Penacony. - With the emphasis on clocks and time, I think the whole dream might be a timeloop. The dream was designed to have an infinite "Golden Hour" for people to enjoy, but with the dream collapsing it might be trapping everyone inside the loop. I think when Acheron speaks in red, she is talking to us from one loop to another, or somehow influencing the loops. - I think the whole dream is held up by a single "dreamer", maybe Mikhail? I have this feeling whole Penacony is one of those situations of "to have a (dream) utopia for everyone, one person is endlessly suffering." Essentially Mikhail is trapped/forced/made to dream forever to keep the Penacony dream going, but is now waking up and the dream is collapsing.

from what I can gather Acheron is the character that has been built up as the most suspicious individual, she basically so far has the least amount of reason to actually be here and now the mc has been told by Adventurine and Black swan that she is not trustworthy and has been placed as the one who killed robin and, we know she didn't prevent fireflies death and there may be more to that than just a mistake but i believe she is a red herring and that the only character we can actually trust right now in any sense is Black Swan, mainly because she at least believes in the truth of memories and that's why she is with Adventurine because she trusts that what he says is the truth however i don't believe that she is a reliable narrator as we know from her own words that if u are able to change everyone's memories to something then that would in a sense become the truth (we also know other memo keepers are here who probably have similar abilities to her and while it seems memo keepers have an overall goal they all have their own desires). Atm from the side quests it is clear that both the family and IPC are at best dodgy and fairly nefarious at worst, also in the story there is a common factor missing that being a Stellaron, which i believe is the Watchmakers legacy since we know that it is a wish granting Item but more like a monkeys paw than anything else for the most part so basically i think the big bad maybe related to Clockie and the watchmaker as Clockie in the Dreamscape is rather Op and i believe that Acherons memories/emotions have been tampered with within the dreamscape and i do think that its basically a prison as the famly are able to lock memories and the ICP have kept a memory bubble trapped here for information, (we know the ICP are here because they want their Prison back from the Family). in the end i think Black Swan is following what she perceives as the truth and that may or may not be the correct truth Adventurine is just using us basically trying to force us into helping him and Acheron seems to me atleast an important character for the story but isn't the Big Bad but a red herring

Thing to me is when two characters who have now proven to not be trust worthy (black swan lying and betraying us, and aventurine is fucking ipc goon so duh) try to say someone else is untrustworthy ill trust them before I trust those two xD, ultimately tho. Trust Sam before any of them since stelleron hunters are our friend/ need us the most

@@Coref0x well i do trust that Acheron isn't against us and i don't think she killed robin there just isn't enough atm to know why she is here in penacony even if we do believe that she was the one who killed Ifrit and just took his invite which Adventurine may be telling the truth about because it would be an odd thing to lie about, though if that is true that just opens up a new can of worms such as possession, and if Ifrit is similar in nature to heliobus can he even be killed, and Sam is weird since they didn't recognise the trailblazer when we encountered them in the dreamscape (which could mean it wasnt actually Sam who knows) but outside of that should at the least be trustworthy enough to not be against the Mc like all the stelleron hunters so far

A few things that I believe to be true (or at least we can rely on): 1. Firefly's feelings to Trailblazer are genuine. In a sense that she truly enjoys being with Trailblazer and never consider Trailblazer as an enemy. 2. Acheron being a villain is a red herring. Yes, she is sus and hides a lot of things from us. Adventurine's account on Ifrit's death is likely to be true. And the suspect is likely to be Acheron. Everything in regards of Acheron stated by both Black Swan and Adventurine must have had a grain of truth in it. But, Acheron _never_ strikes me as someone who is hostile to Trailblazer. But she is very much likely to be hostile towards Sam. My mind is still a mess, but my gut tells me that I can definitely trust Firefly, and maybe trust Acheron a bit. While the others, I have to put some grains of salt to their narratives.

@@YosepRA tbh i think a lot of time stuff is involved with Acheron and Adventurine to me and even with how Black Swan describes him is someone who can paint a picture with the truth so therefore doesn't really outright lie just uses half truths and his wit to make you draw the conclusions he has designed for you to make.

I think there is a bit of weight to the idea that Firefly IS Sam (the suit is the medical cabin and semi-autonomous). SW is still around and entirely capable of tampering with things to set up a show (Aether editing). The White Knight trailer also has some shots of Firefly that appear to lead into animations of Sam after a few cuts (along with lighting effects that match her color scheme). As a side note, Sam could be an acronym for Semi Autonomous Medical-Cabin. Or Firefly could just be a giant red herring and has little to do with the upcoming plot (actually dead). We will see in a patch or two.

I think that Fireflys death was handled poorly. We knew her for like 10 minutes and of those 10 we spent half wondering if she is going to stab us in the back and then they plaster like 46 death flags on her and expect me to be sad when she dies? I do not care about this girl that I barely know and I dont know why the trailblazer would either since I picked all of the "antagonistic" choices towards her so by proxy they should be suspicious of her too lol. And if she is not dead this was all just pointless anyways so its even worse. I think we should have had more time with her tbh.

@@darknessknows1235 Well, that does make some sense. We still don’t know why Robin’s voice was off then. It was mentioned even by March that Robin didn’t sound like she was in top shape. That detail shouldn’t be overlooked. Sparkle shouldn’t have known Robin died yet, which is why she tried talking to Sunday using his sister as a disguise. Sunday also mentions that, and it’s how he finds out the Robin that came up to him was a Fool. But it also implies still that Sparkle could have been impersonating Robin even when Robin was still alive. Or, simply, Sparkle didn’t care or bother to remember the details. She’s a Fool after all. She doesn’t particularly care to memorize everything.

spoiler the trailblazer will get harmony, leaks suggest that after a *big* fight, the harmony comes to the trailblazer in a dream, helping them sync with the harmony, allows them to "ignore" the said enemy in the *big* fight which will most likely be Acheron. ALSO they get these cool hat attacks :D ( the hat in the white night mv that the Caelus wore with Aventurine )

I use Stelle as mc and she said that she was just joking, so this is not connected to the gender like when we first meet her in dream and when you use Stelle she says that she had female friend that fought with her tohether shoulder to shoulder. When you use male mc she says that she crossed blades with some male that is similar to male mc.

If you play Lesley and Chadwick's World Quest it's almost confirmed that death in dreamscape =/= death rl (and vice versa), even when the rl one died in dream the "character" can still be alive (Lesley) and even irl he already have like NO BODY at all, he can form a body in dream (Chadwick) Obvious clue enough that Firefly IS still alive but (according to her narration) she has a very weak body irl so i don't think that her form in dream = her form irl so, where is she? looking at the last moment we saw her in Main Quest, she was last seen in the hotel lobby when Trailblazer, Acheron and Black Swan met Sam Atp it's kinda obvious that Firefly = Sam.

I think Acheron being an Emanator of Nihility makes a lot of sense, objectively speaking, she follows the path in battle as a playable character, but in a more "probably overthinking stuff" way, you could argue that the thought of death, or more specifically, the thought process of "death comes for us all" is a very nihilistic view of life, possibly being why death apparently follows her so much that she's gained a reputation of bringing it wherever she goes.

@@ToothpickSamurai yeah, I was actually pretty moved by the care she shows us after Firefly. The way she rushed her words felt like she was very impacted by MC's pain. She also seemed like a responsible type when she took the time to give Firefly a farewell. Like it was her personal duty to do so. Also, the phrase she says about "mercy to an enemy is taking mercy away from yourself but one must be sure of who their enemy is" is a one-to-one line Sakura says in Elysium Realm in Honkai Impact. Definitely the most intriguing character so far.
