For the people in the 20's I would also mention the huge startup scene that offers a lot of opportunities. In addition to clubbing (which is of interest only for a minority) I would also recommend the cultural scene. Berlin is just second to none in Europe if you are interested in arts of any kind

So agree with all of this. Moved to Berlin at 21 and it’s been the best experience. Even though I sometimes think about leaving after 5 years in the city I somehow always miss it whenever I leave

I can honestly agree with your opinion about winter in berlin. Can be the best place in summer, but one of the worst ones all over europe :-D

I feel like the city is so ugly, that it get's completely horrible, almost unbearable, in winter, and after 6 month of darkness people see a ray of sunshine and a green leave and be like "Berlin is IIIITTTT..." but it is still ugly - just in sunny way. :D

Die Mieten schrecken mich wirklich so ab, mein Freund wohnt hier und hat weniger qm als ich (ich wohne in einer kleineren Stadt mit 200.000 Einwohnern) und er zahlt viele hundert Euro mehr als ich. Auf der einen Seite liebe ich es, dass man in Berlin so viel machen kann und es so viele unterschiedliche Menschen gibt, die frei leben und ihr Ding machen, in Kleinstädten ist das ja eher seltener. Doch habe ich manchmal den Druck, für Berlin nicht cool/individuell und trendy zu sein. Irgendwie liebe ich Berlin und dann schreckt es mich doch ab...

I spent 2 years in another country when turning 30, got self-employed with a completely new job in my mid-30s. Never too old for amything, just do whatever you want.
