One of my favorite videos ever. As someone who lives in Puerto Rico, I have about 2 bookstores where I can go that carry most of the YA books I love. The rest of them (very few others) are very very small and only carry local books, so videos like these makes me feel included in the bookworm world, because I don’t really have the chance to go to bookstores like these here at home.

Oh oh oh next time!!! Hit Alabasters, Book Culture, Bluestockings, and Shakespeare & Co. too! (If you're looking for more bookstores to see in NYC) Growing up in New York was such a dream come true. The reading culture in my city is so rich, and I haven't quite figured out why. There are bookstores everywhere, I always see people reading on the subway and in the park. The New York Public Library is a behemoth, a mecca of literature and one of the great centers of our city. We're home to Book Expo! Books are the only things you can sell in NYC without any kind of permit. We just love to read here, and it's always been that way, and I wish I knew why.

So many excellent shops here! Next time you're in NY, come to Queens and the Astoria Bookshop! It's a block down from the N/W train, and has a good selection and great events! (Nobody is paying me to say this, I'm just a local).
