I agree on the Jack Daniels single barrel barrel proof as the "impress your guests/friends", simply because everyone - bourbon drinker or not - has a preconception about Jack, be it good or bad. I've blown away a few friends giving them a taste of the barrel proof. Just sooo good and such a completely different experience than Old No. 7.

Daily - all 3 of yours are great choices. I love all of them, and would add Evan BiB. JBS Brown and OGD - cannot find them around here. 10 stores so far. WTRB is hard to find here also. Mixer - Evan W BiB or 1783. Impress your Friends - Six &Twenty Five Grain (something different most people have not tried). Friday night - Woodford Reserve. Special Occaision - Blue Note Uncut (survivor barrel, 116.5 proof). If you ask me again next week I will give a completely different list except for special occaision. The Blue Note is a rock star. I have 4 bottles, and when they are gone, there ain't no mo' because it's a single barrel of bourbon that survived a rickhouse collapse. and now you ahve 28K subs! Congrats man!

Daily Drinker: Woodford Reserve< there is a reason this is the best selling bourbon. Impress a guest: Wyoming Whiskey, Almost perfect at a reasonable price. Cheap Mixer: Trader Joe's bourbon, taste like crap straight, is absolutely wonderful in a mixed drink. Friday Night bourbon: Angel's Envy. Nectar of God. Special Occasion: Woodinville Cask Strength. Brings a tear to my eye. This high of proof shouldn't taste so smooth.

Daily - Buffalo Trace (Ardbeg 10yo) Mixer - Wild Turkey 101 (Dewar's White Label) Impress you guests - Eagle Rare (Ardbeg Uigeadail) Friday Night - Four Rose's Single Barrel (Lagavulin 16yo) *Redbreast 12yo for those night's when you need a little Irish Special Occasion - Wild Turkey Master's Keep (Highland Park 18yo) Yes there are tons of premium choices, but if I can't go to the store and buy a bottle then it is pointless to add it to a list for others....Sure I'd love to say I pull out a Pappy 23yo every time the boys come over. Nice picks! I will definitely have to try some of your suggestions. My only suggestion is: if you are going to take the time to make a video, take an extra 20 seconds to pour out samples if you are undecided. Lipping those three makes me concerned for anyone tasting your collection. Sure, the alcohol kills stuff but, it takes just 20 seconds to pour a 1oz sample.

Awesome list. Very very close to mine as well for the Friday nights and impress your guests. I’ve had a ton of luck getting people into Woodford double so I’d probably add that in somewhere. I’ve also bought the makers 101 specifically to share with bourbon newbies and had a great experience. I will say I’ve had more variation in quality than I expected from such a tried and true brand.

I am fully aware of the snobbery of this first sentence... with that said, my minimum requirement on buying a bottle is that it has to be $60 or more as I don't go through bottles that quickly and would always to prefer something special when I choose to take on the calories. There are two brands that really stand out to me and they've been Four Roses cask strength store picks - everyone I've bought has been phenomenal. The other is One Eight Distilling Untitled Whiskies. What they do with their finishing is so unique but always seems to hit for me. Locally, Litchfield Distillery has a Double Barrel bourbon aged 10 years that is just spectacular. I've had M10 a number of times and find it to be so pedestrian compared to what other fringe bottles can offer. For the purposes of this video, I get why you chose it though.

You switched the Old Grand Dad BiB to JTS Brown in the recap. Any reason? Also JTS Brown is not sold in the whole Northeastern US. It is so frustrating for reviewers to pick things that I can never get. Early Times BiB is also unavailable in the Northeast. It is also illegal to ship liquor into my state so there is absolutely no way to try these.
