Take your old diesel to a local country fire service they can use it for fire lighter for starting burn off's prior to fire season.

Great feed back guys. Most butchers will vacuum pack meat for you if you give them enough notice. Had this done in Broome and Kununurra. Cost a couple of dollars extra per pack, but so worth it.

No from your Eps its looks much the same , We never stayed at any places we just free camped on the way and got fuel at a couple spots, we stayed at Crystal creek out past Mitchell falls for 4 weeks and then stayed on a beach between Magowans and Honey moon bay for another 4 weeks we had mind blowing fishing, I was going back in May this years after going to Nhulunbuy for two weeks but the road was not open, hopefully get back up there one year @@suelandolt6840

Hey, thanks so much. Reality is the Gibb is a harsh road and you should definitely be prepared for some damage and definitely rock/stone damage.

You said it but how many spare tyres can you carry. doesn't matter what you do with tyre pressure, it only takes one little rock or sharp stick, and there goes your goes your side wall.

I'd like to know what food stuff you take with you on your remote travels. I guess u wouldn't take a lot of cans. Do u use dehydrated veggies, rice, pre-packaged, and what do u substitute bread with?
@suelandolt6840 Жыл бұрын
Hi Helen, great question. The freezer was packed to the brim with meat and some frozen vegetables. I took potatoes, pumpkin, capsicum, cabbage and carrots as they last well. Also some canned veg and beans. We ate wraps and crackers/biscuits as a substitute for bread and made a couple of dampers.

Hi mate, you made my day agin the other day , I passed you on the Kooweerup bypass the other day. Just a question on the Gibb that you didn’t touch on was the lack of toilet dump points on the road. Is it ok to dig a hole and dump it? Cheers Andy

Hi guys, we are heading off from Adelaide in May and traveling to the west coast up to the gib should be doing the gib at the start of July do you think we will be okay traveling on our own we are not very experienced in the mechanics of cars or vans. Do you meet other people traveling on the gib? Hope we get to meet a group along the way as it's a bit scary and exciting.

That broken down van would've been left open on purpose to save damage from a break-in which would've been inevitable. They would've taken everything of value with them.
