The beer at 5:38 is called Hasselröder. Hasselrode is a part of Wernigerode and it is quite popular in the whole country. And don't worry about the name, even a lot of germans call it the wrong way if you haven't seen the comercial before

We were stationed in Germany from 72 to 82 then my dad retired there. Came back stateside in 96. Culture shock. German mustard, ketchup, and mayo taste so different.... German beer is amazing. Now they have to make it organic because round up is banned in Europe. 😊

Recent even in North-Rhine-Westphalia (Solingen, Siegen, etc.) show us why in regards to certain 'Fachkräfte' it's actually a very good thing. White pensioners outside of a car, not judging their neighbors cause basically no trouble.

it really depends in wich City/ Town you are. In my City you pay like 4-5€ for just a Coffee and 5-6€ for a "Bratwurst" just a SINGLE one and not even that large as in the Video lol. Small Beer about 4-6€. Those prices in the Video looks like it was made before Covid because of the super Cheap prices and before the inflation lol

5:36 It's actually "Hasseroder", meaning a local brewery from Hasserode which is not far away from Wernigerode. Those two letters are old German versions of the small s. I agree though, it does look like a small l or f.

We love the Harz area. My wife parents were married in Wernigerode 60 years ago (in the city hall building you mentioned) and we got married there nearly 20 years ago (in the castle) and as a family we go often. Did a Christmas there this year as it’s our favorite Christmas Market. Enjoyed the video but please stop going places Americans don’t know about, those are my spots. :).

Rural places is not obviously touristy places like Quedlinburg. 😊. Also petrol stations are heavily overpriced. You want easy good food :buy fresh bread and sausage on a supermarket for a penny and feed your whole family 😊

I remember when I drove in Germany during my last trip out there and I was going 130 and I was wondering why I felt like I wasn’t going that fast. Then I realized it’s not in miles.
