Please please and please, you need to understand this Turkey isn't a middle eastern country. Turkey isn't a European country either. Turkey is unique at that situation. It is not belong to both of the continents. It is the actual bridge between them. So we dont need to classify this country. So we dont need to state that, whether is it Middle Eastern or European. It is both of them. At the same time it is not. So it is really complicated. Even the compatriots of Turkey don't know this. Addition to that they have some cultural and ethnic relations to Central Asia too. So it is really hard to say Turkey as a Middle Eastern country.

One small note as an Iranian citizen who has lived in Turkey for more than 10 years, If you see Turkey Cheap then you need to visit Iran, and it doesn't matter if you are an American citizen, Eu citizen you still can get a visa, Iran it's roughly one-third of Turkey's prices and it might be the cheapest country on this planet due to the high inflation rate.

And in Syria and Libya, All Turkey doing is helping the civilians btw if you are not sure just go to the site that Turkey is defending in Syria/Libya and ask them if Turkey is a terrorist. They will say no because all Turkey does is helping them and we spent over 3 million US Dollars for them. You still call us terrorists? In Iraq, all we do is defend our country from those terror organizations such as YPG, PKK we are saving people from them and you are still calling us terrorists. You are just brainwashed by those news that aren't even presenting the truth! Stop blaming a country without even knowing what is going on there. Hi guys, it is pronounced LAH-MAJUNE... and there are condiments served along and you are supposed to put the onions, Parsley and squeeze some Lemon Juice and then eat it.. it is much more delicious that way... thanks .. I love Turkey as I well, but it is more of a love-hate relationship with me... I do miss the food... and the ambiance in Istanbul... there are some very cool places on the Asian side but you need more than a few hours to explore them... and it is much cheaper on the Asian Side... but the same food and restanrant there are available in the Asian side... and I prefer the less touristy places like the Asian side of Istanbul.... Take care.. my name is Adam and I am from Seattle, living in Montreal, Canada/.

Turkey is located at the Asia and Europe. The European side called: Eastern Thrace, the Asian side is called: Asia minor, or Anatolia. We do have lands at the middle east but it’s only the southern eastern part of the country wich is also called north Mesopotamia. Also, at the north east part of the country is the beginning of the Caucasia. However in general, Turks and historic sources call the country as Anatolia or Anadolu in Turkish. The term of “Middle East” is not an old nor an organic term. That term was first used by Admiral Sir Alfred Thayer Mahan in 1902. The Ottoman Empire region was called Near East, the India and beyond was called Far East that’s why the inbetween, Mesopotamia and the area up to India, was called as the “Middle east” by Europeans. It’s very interesting that some of the people who only knows the Turkey from far away and with little knowledge or without a very simple effort of asking wikipedia are insisting on their own limited biases and their ridiculous ignorance towards the people from the country...
