I was in both Tokyo and Kyoto at the same time as you and and saw you and your crew play games and go into the b forest. Was super stoked how I planned same spots as you but was too shy to say hi. We were on the same first train on the way to the forest too. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the series.

They aren't giving out Suica or Pasmo cards any longer because of microchip shortage. If you are a foreigner, you can still get a Welcome Suica or Pasmo Passport IC card. But they expire after 28 days. Really surprised you didn't mention this or know about it.

When it comes to Sushi, you can find good quality in the US... But expect to pay an arm and a leg for it. But that is usually true in all countries that Foreign Food is often more expensive, while local food is much cheaper.

I would argue that MOST foods taste better from their native regions where they originated from (so in Japan, as you found out, Sushi for example). I mean even "American" Mexican food is nothing like authentic Mexican food. The only exception to this rule of food tastes might be IF you found a restaurant that was run by someone who was from that area and they used authentic ingredients and recipes, then it may taste just like if you had it in Japan or China or wherever.
