I think it should be illegal to refuse a bid after the auction has finished. Now, hear me out. The seller can hold the item at the auction for as long as they feel like, not only taking up space but also artificially inflating the price of the car. It would also have the domino effect of making other larger firms and banks believe their wrecked out repo’s are worth more than what people are willing to pay. Thus artificially increasing the cost of vehicles in the auctions, and increasing “profits” of these banks, making them more comfortable and less restrictive with lending out unfeasible and egregious vehicle loans. Thus, more repos, and more auctions. A vicious cycle.
