What can it do? Testing a new mini skid steer

Its called a Worky Quad by cast. Can it load a trailer, spread soil or finish grade? Its a Mini stand on skid with 4 oversized wheels & a bucket & I HATED it. I was expecting it to run like other equipment- it doesn't. It Took a FULL day then I started to get used to it. First I test it by moving(loading and hauling) a pile of rotting material, Then attempt to spread material and end with seeing if it can finish grade.

You nailed it with the mini skid as a tool to use year round . I run an old boxer 427 brute tracked unit with similar controls . Since I’m only a small operation I needed a machine to get in tight spots , and do a bit of everything. I have a grapple , a 54” material bucket and the backhoe attachment. The machine is basically a crew of 6-10 guys without the liability. I love you videos Stan, good material you put out .

When you ran it out of fuel you underestimated the Honda engine! They are SO reliable! I had a teeny tiny 38" mower, i never did anything but put an air filter in it, and gas, no oil changes or anything in about 12 years owning it! Not saying that this is a practice you should follow but Honda engines are so so reliable! Expensive but reliable! Love your videos as always!

Toro Dingo is very jerky as well, it’s a work out running a mini skid steer. Some jobs are made for these machines, had to move 12 yards of stone though a 5ft gate.. Perfect machine for the job!

Used a Toro Dingo for a few years in a cattle barn and loved it for feeding since we had to feed close to 200 head by hand carry 2 5 gal pails and it was a time process. Our Alley ways and doors were 60 inches wide and it was great we cut time from 5 hours down to one hour . We found it a bit loud but once all got used to it no prob . I got to play with a New Kubota SCL mini it was very nice with tracks and a diesel engine it was a little Brute..

That machine is essentially a copy of the "Dingo" that was invented in Australia in the 1980's. The hydraulic system is very crude compared to what you'd find in a modern skid-steer. Toro acquired the rights to the Dingo name for the Americas in 1997, and having briefly used a Toro Dingo TX1000, it's a much more refined machine.

I had a ditch witch sk350 tracked mini skid steer and I bought a drop off bucket for it. I had a pick up truck with a steel dump body. With the drop off bucket I was able to unload the dirt to the apposite side of the truck. That style bucket is well worth the money.

Long comment alert!!! I own a 2018 Titan XD SV midnight edition diesel . I have owned it since new and put 30,000 miles on it. It’s my work truck and daily driver. I’m a full time firefighter/emt, so I never have the option to stay home from work for inclement weather ( snow/ice, flooding, storm debris) it never fails me. As far as a work truck, I haul an enclosed trailer about 3 days a week during the mowing season. With multiple mowers and handhelds I estimate 5k lbs. I also haul my Kubota Bx2200 with loader. It’s by no means a 3/4 ton but also not a 1/2 ton. It handles the weight of the trailers well and stays around 18 mpg. It’s comparable to 3/4 ton numbers of the early and mid 2000’s. I have also driven the truck all over the southeast on vacation. With family and a bed full of luggage it’ll get 23 mpg highway. It’s the family truckster as well, i prefer it 10 to 1 to my wifes 2020 Grand Cherokee Altitude. However it was Nissans best kept secret and the Cummins diesel was discontinued after 2019. ‘18 and ‘19 models are the most sought after due to having the bugs worked out.

So if you keep that machine within it's context you will have a better experience. Being brand new, those hydro's will be very jumpy until they break in. It is not like a piece of "heavy equipment". It is essentially a cracked out wheel barrow!!! (That can handle 40 + attachments) My Dingo 322 is one of the older series out there, and once you re align the expectations and get some time behind the controls, you will see that pound for pound they are very efficient, and when used correctly are also very low impact. Don't worry Stan there is a sharp learning curve!!!! Keep up the great vids

That seems like a pretty cool machine. Skunks. I grew up where we adopted this dog that was being abused but ended up taking our other dog out on rainy nights coming back reeking of skunk. Still kept him and loved him, Tiny was his name. He would sit on his rump and drag himself along the rug a bit. I swear he knew how to smioe, too. He had a habit of passing gas right next to you, get up and move across the room and look at you smiling especially when you caught a good whiff. They were bad. If you were paying attention you might hear a lttle pfift sound. Aaah ,the things we remeber sometimes. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve been using mini skid loaders since 1996. It’s pretty much the same machine I’ve used and they are so versatile we used it for EVERYTHING. I was able to load 3 to 4 yards of fill, stone and mulch into dump trucks many times. There’s a certain way to do it but it can definitely be done. I’ve used about 10 or more different attachments. Love the Honda engine on that machine though. I like this machine and will check them out. You’ll love owning that.

I pull equipment and dump trailers on a regular bases and really like my Titans. I wish more of the smaller skid-steers were diesel, maybe with something like a Deutz F2L511. Gas engines make them a non-starter for use in underground mines for both safety and regulatory reasons. Something else I'd like to see is cost-effective remote control options for them. Interesting that your dealer has multiple site dumpers. Those haven't gotten much traction in the US; it will be interesting to see if that changes.

It is between a half ton and 3/4 ton. Amazing brakes. Gas engine is fairly reliable. Seats are amazing...the HD version has a different frame and larger brakes, axles etc. If I bought another, I would get the gas. They have discontinued the diesel. Hope that helps ya Stan!

You mentioned the Tesla truck. Pulling a trailer, the power will but phenomenal. But I think I learned in my years of working with battery powered equipment in a warehouse. The more of a load you put on the battery, the faster you drain the batteries. Any time you have to climb a grade will also drain the batteries. Temperatures are a huge factor with batteries in equipment, the colder the temperatures the faster the batteries will drain. And they take longer to charge in colder temperatures too. Speaking of charging, the batteries will take 8 to 12 hours to fully charge. If you short charge the batteries, it will dramatically shorten the life of the batteries. A word of caution, if a battery powered vehicle get in a accident. Batteries have a tendency to explode. These are some things that I learned being a forklift mechanic

In Australia where this type of machine was created it is called a dingo and they are a great little machine with loads of different attachments from tranches, 4 way buckets, cement mixes, forklift, rippers, ect. Anyone can use them

Toro makes these also and they are called dingos. We have an older one that has tires but also have a set of tracks that go over the wheels. We took a plow from a grasshopper zero turn, made a bracket of it to attach to the skid steer style hook up and use that for sidewalks.

I think the Titan is considered a 5/8 ton truck so its right between the 1/2 and 3/4. Other than that, I have not heard if they are decent trucks or if they tow well. I would see if TFL Truck has some info on them.

I like the wheels on a WorkyQuad but I despise those controls. Toro really has the controls down much better on their new Dingos. The reason I don’t like the forward/backward lever control with handles to rest your palms is it makes it hard to use the loader while also moving the machine at the same time, whereas Toro Dingo one hand is for steering and the other is for the loader so you can run the loader arms while also moving the machine. But to my knowledge the Dingo only offers tracked machines. Overall they’re about the same size and you can use the Toro Dingo year round as well.

Stan doesn’t look like you ran it to bad for the third time you ran it I have a tracked boxer it’s like riding a bull in a rodeo over ruff terrain. Your back and muscles feel it by the end of the day. As for snow the tracks make it useless to light slides around might be ok if it had a v plow. Looking at a s70 bobcat inclosed cab with heat for sidewalks.

You used this thing in large areas where a regular Bobcat would be the tool of choice. You should do a video of it in tight spots where you cant fit heavy equipment. That is where this would really shine.

Think I know how the drive system on that loader works they have a fixed displacement pump on the motor and a fixed displacement motor on each side. Basically it is the cheap way to make a skid steer. Instead of the right way. The right way would be 3 pumps on the motor 2 variable displacement and one fixed. Like any heavy skid steer has.
