We bought a used Vermeer s600tx and love it! The price was right. Didn't want to pay $30-$60k for the newer mini skids. $12.5k with attachments and 2k hours. It needed some work (maintenance) but hasn't broke the bank. Biggest thing we wanted in a used machine was a ride-on/stand-on machine. We have rented a MT52/MT55 that was a walk behind (I'd rather us a shovel). We've rented a Toro and Vermeer 925tx and they were both decent machines. IMO most of the newer stuff is pretty good.

@High-Flow-Drainage-Solutions7 ай бұрын
We've tested and studied many mini skids. Ran a Toro TX1000 for a year or so. Was a high performing, compact machine, but the wasn't terribly tough/reliable and was easy to roll tracks off of. Have heard good things about Ditch Witch until recently when the we're purchased by Toro (no surprise) Ended up purchasing a Vermeer CTX 100. We've been running it for 2.5 years now and love it. It is a tough, well designed, and very powerful unit compared to machine like the Toro or Bobcat. Vermeer for the win in my opinion if you have a good dealer.

I live my mt100 so far. That being said, its new and ive only put a few hours on it. So far i think the standing platform is way to narrow. It looks like you will almost be hugged inside of it but feel like im falling off the back alot. The hydraulic bypass is pretty annoying. It will bypass before the ass end has me in the air sometimes. Its also kind of slow. But this being my first machine im still loving it and looking forward to using it alot

S70 with very short wheelbase is way more unstable when the ground is not flat than a mini skid on tracks. Also for one man crew, much easier to jump on and off mini than climb out of bobcat. Also to work on S70 is way harder than mini skid. I had a 443 which is a really old S70, now have a vermeer 425 , much happier. It’s always about the exact things you want to optimize.

I got a Wacker SM100. Spec wise, it beat almost every comparable machine (except the Vermeer CTX100 which was another 35k CAD!); MUCH faster, higher hinge pin, lower ground pressure, and MASSIVE 64L/17gal fuel tank. Price wise, ~8k cheaper than Kubota/Bobcat where I am. Some other pros: My SM100 is actually built in America (though I live in Canada), Yanmar turbo diesel, front mounted cooler so you don't get hot air basting your legs, triple flanged grease adjust undercarriage, float mode (great QOL option in my opinion), wide track yet narrow machine, grease points where it matters and not on idlers. Some cons: single stick drive control (some like, some don't), lots of electronic limiting for safety and logevity of the engine (again, some don't like that), dealer network isn't as large ( though my dealer is

Bobcat should definitely go higher than Wacker Nelson and new Holland. Easily on par with the Toro or even slightly above. Ditch witch is where it belongs, Vermeer probably belongs right between bobcat/Toro and ditch witch. The Kubota machine probably belongs in the same category as the bobcat/Toro or maybe vermeer, that’s a tough call. I think something you should’ve included in your rankings is whether or not they are easily stolen. My biggest gripe about the bobcat is that it’s a key machine along with some others on this list. I think the biggest plus to the ditch which is that most of them are keypad these days

I've used Kabota, Vermeer, and ditch witch. Ditch witch is hands down my favorite. One thing I would change on it is to have the aux hydraulic button on the boom control like the Kabota. I also kinda liked the dual stick for the drives. The newer single stick is not bad though. Vermeer i didn't like at all. It had the Kohler diesel and it was total garbage. Very low hour machine and it constantly died and smoked like a freight train. Boom control was smooth. Kabota was an ok machine. I hated the drive control on it. It was very stiff and wore my left hand out after 6 hours of use. The boom control was all or nothing. It is very hard to be precise with it. Ok power wise and the platform was the most comfortable. The boom had float mode which was nice. Ditch witch first, Kabota second and Vermeer last for me.

I agree, and the what you've gotta consider with the Chinese brand is that they usually cary a great resale value. You can buy it for $5000 and use it then often times sell it for even a bit more becaues there is someone else that wants a great deal and doesn't want to spend $40,000.

I run a Chinese machine for landscaping here in Australia, it's a ditch witch knock off. It's decent, all the components are quality brand name stuff similar to big name stuff. Bad points are track system is garbage they wear out too fast and rocks can get into rollers and cause tracks to come off. Bucket hitch plate is weak and tracking speed is bit slow. I used to work as a mechanic so I've no problem fixing things, I definitely agree with the bobcat stuff, we don't have the Kubota here and I worked for Kubota so I know their products are good. You have lost your ever-loving mind as a person who is owned ditch witch, vermeer, toro, and bobcat, My guys referred to our Ditch Witch as a Ferrari fast as hell but always broken and in the shop for repairs we have a bobcat mt85 it's the old Ford truck that just starts every single day and goes to work, as to the S70 machines we own two of these if driving on hard surfaces at all they will run circles speed-wise around our mt-85 or our Ditch Witch. We sold our Ditch Witch because it needed constant repairs, we actually snapped the arms on it, and snapped attachment plate multiple times. Bobcat Mt might be a little underpowered, and a little slower, but it stands uo to employee use much better. In closing I would probably put the Bobcat machines somewhere in the above average area, and bring the ditch witch down because of all of the recent repairs I've seen that are not being covered under warranty from Ditch Witch, examples being pumps shearing completely off of the engine, drive Motors completely shearing the sprocket off, hoses rubbing through because routed poorly, emissions issues causing machines to be constantly at the dealer and the dealer not wanting to work on them because they have a Yanmar engine in them.

I'd disagree, at least in part, about the Chinese knockoffs. If you need dealer support, 100% don't buy them, but given I can do down to my local Harbor Freight or Princess Auto (Canada's version) and get replacement parts it's not that bad.

First of all no 1's mentioning the name of the Chinese loader and no 1's name in the parts that they're finding and what parts are going bad

The Chinese brand runs about 6500. All parts are easy to get at any local store.

I didn't watch very much of your video before I realized that your research didn't include many videos of owners of Chinese mini skid steers and mini excavators. I can also promise you that if they were trash, Ritchie Brothers wouldn't be selling them in huge numbers. People do a lot of research before they spend five or six thousand dollars on a piece of equipment. And furthermore, Amazon does sell parts for these machines.

Not getting parts for China brand is a myth. You have to get one from an importer like Kymron. Good stuff. Parts on hand. Over a hundred hours no issue yet. Even has a kubota diesel

Toro 1000 or 2000 way better than Kubota, better balance , better stance, better controls, no-brainer.

Wacker Sm120 are trash been through 2! Lots of manufacture issues and very difficult to get parts. Just bought a mt100 run them all before rating them.

Reviews should be based on actual usage comparison, tests, toughness, easy to access and fix, etc. not based on a company's net worth. The guy on Project Farm channel does real live tests to do comparisons, even if its on small things. Some people would prefer Bobcat, some Vermeer, and others what has been ideal for them. There's always an argument for each manufacturer and choosing the best is subjective. Just saying.

Almost every American car manufacturer has had some type of recalls on their vehicles, only bonus is they fix them for free. China your still out of pocket and time waiting for parts to come overseas.

SK600 .898 liter Kubota diesel engine…
@ngnmech6 ай бұрын
own one. 902D Kubota diesel engine. Good little machine for close in work and will fit through standard backyard 36" gates. Use it for stump chip cleanup. Only complaint is it doesn't like cold weather. Even with glow plugs hard to start initially. I don't think the engine is the problem. The issue is the engine starts and then the pumps with their cold hydraulic fluid override the engine and kill it. Need a fair amount of throttle for that initial below 30 degree start to keep it running.
