Eagles GM just gave the NFL a masterclass on building a team brick by brick. Their defense was literally built through the draft. He continued to build their oline since their last SB, he never took it for granted…continuity is HUGE to building a successful team. The trades for AJ Brown and Saquon will be remembered and talked about for a long time. Build continuity in your oline Build your defense thru the draft Once you’ve built the foundation, trade for top tier weapons to put you over the top

Howie Roseman was smart to draft most of the players of that dominant GA Bulldogs defense, and he only had to trade up 1 pick to ensure Philly got Jalen Carter in 2023, the rest of those GA players fell to the Eagles in the 2022 draft and 2023 draft, and I think Roseman took all of them except for Travon Walker who went #1 overall in 2022 to the Jags.

That's the problem Both QB are younger 😭😭 and one has 3 rings and the other just got his first make it make sense don't compare it's up to the team one thing ik is that Geno Smith isn't the end all be all and that's ok he'll be judged better with a line but maybe he is who we thought he was he isn't flashy or anything but he isn't terrible maybe his sealing is 10-7 and that's ok for another team thing one needs a couple more wins that's all I'm saying

The big lesson I took away was SIZE on the offensive line. They said the Eagles o-line was like 6'6" and 340 for an average. That's crazy. But a good coach looks at that and says on short yardage downs, we can use these guys to rugby shove the whole pile 2 yards every time and nobody will be able to stop it. Design your scheme around your personnel. Since this is a copycat league, I think we're going to see a run on building huge offensive lines. It's unstoppable. You have 2000 lbs of offense pushing against 1500 lbs of defense.
9 сағат бұрын
I think it all depends on whether teams are running a man-blocking scheme or a zone-blocking scheme. I think Philly runs a man-blocking scheme in which you want your OLineman to be bigger and heavier, whereas a team like Seattle runs a zone-blocking scheme in which you need lighter and more athletic OLinemen.

I learned that trenches win Superbowl's. Not defenses, not offenses, not running backs or quarterbacks or any other skill player. The thing that is interesting is, which trench would you say won or lost the Super Bowl? You might think that Philly's defensive line clearly dominated, but you could also argue it the other way. You could say that KC's lack of a superior offensive line lost them the Super Bowl. One could imagine that if you gave a good QB like Mahomes adequate protection it would not have been a loss, or at least not a beat down. The way I look at it, the Eagles defensive line is a tremendous advantage, but also, their offensive line is really good too. KC shut down the run game, but that offensive line gave Hurts enough time to make throws when it mattered. So, if we are to take the "Defense wins championships" motto, I think you need to modify it to "Defense + decent offensive line" wins championships.

@trxe420
@trxe420 13 сағат бұрын
@@4ransom437 Yes, their defensive line dominated, but let's say that KC's offensive line played as well as the Eagle's offensive line did, I still think Eagle's win, but it would not have been a blowout. My point is that the Eagles dominated both trenches and that produced a team that was unbeatable (in this game). KC's offensive line was pretty good most of the season, but I would not put them on the same level as the Eagles, just my opinion.

Look…the lesson is there’s multiple ways to build a winning team. Dominant defense or dominant offense, doesn’t really matter…but if you can’t run block and can’t pass block, it doesn’t matter what your offense can do or how good your QB is…and if you can’t run stuff and pass rush, it doesn’t matter what else your defense can do or how good any individual corner or safety is.

I don't know if any of you noticed that KC's backup QB is Carson Wentz, the former Eagles' starting QB, and now both of his former backup QBs in Philly, Nick Foles and Jalen Hurts, have each won a SB with the Eagles. At least people will stop looking at McVay and Shanahan as the second coming of the Almighty. I was getting tired of people trying to hire their janitors as head coaches

I don't hate the Chiefs, they are less hatable than Patriots. But I would much rather have Rans, Bills and others in the championship. I enjoyed watching absolute game wrecking defense. It looked like KC traded its soul to "make it back to one more SB" and then the devil came back to snakebite Mahomes and crew. Just non-competitive, almost moreso than SB48.

Draft from the top programs. Don’t try to be cute in the draft. Get more draft picks by trading non performers

Defense wins championship. But offense like Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes can build a dynasty. Besides refs fiasco in two weeks, it looked like Chiefs offense lost rythem and ill prepared and Eagles defense were well rested and well prepared. On the other side, the Eagles offense was sharp and the Chiefs defense couldn't stop them. The result was a rout by the Philadelphia Eagles. The bottom line is this. You can't win forever with putting everything on QB and you need shut down defense and not only QB like Hurt but you need offensive line, Saquon and AJ Brown. The complete team wins championships. Just think about what the Seahawks need. You can't just win with Trent Dilfer and Ray Lewis Ravens defense. Those days are gone. I don't know how the Eagles built this team. But it took time and the right decisions. You need to make right decisions both on draft and free agency. Remember. Jalen Carter was right there to draft by the Seattle Seahawks. Scottie Pippen was a Seattle Super Sonics. Do not trade him for Olden Polynice

I woud rather Spoon and Leo han just Carter alone. I still think Spoon is a great player but at the time we should have picked Carter, but no regrets with Spoon. Now we need to buikd the trenches espcially O line.

We need a QB that can run, a better DE, new Guards and Center. And a better TE then Barner. I think Charbonnett should be the starter or get a RB that can get 1200 yards and 7 TD's.
