What Can We Buy With Just $100?

In 2022 I'm going to challenge myself to start a brand new pokemon card collection from scratch while being on an ultra tight budget of just $100 a month! This is going to test my skills as a savvy shopper and scrappy collector to put together an awesome collection. We'll need to find the best pokemon cards in 2022!

Great video Jake, I used to find it very difficult to hold back on purchasing cards I want, but after finding sniping deals I’ve found it very rewarding to land a great card way under market.

These videos are such an inspiration while starting up my collection again. When I was a kid I had a binder full of holos and while being forced to move around my step grandparents gave it away while I was in the middle of moving, it was at least $1000 of cards especially since they were almost all within the first 5 years of pokemon. I'm going to start a budget collection just like this now that I have a little more money.

Entering the hobby, I spent so much money buying packs, ETBs, collection boxes etc and had very little to show for it. I've now grown into buying and bidding graded cards I want. I save loads of money and get what I want without messing about.

Thanks Jake for another budget investment video. 👍 You can still complete your base set collection, including Charizard, and still be within your 100.00 budget per month. On your next month, keep your 100.00 allotment aside and wait for the following month to purchase your Charizard card. You will have 200.00 available funds and may have extra to get another base set card. This is what I do when buying stocks and mutual funds.

I do enjoy the series. I don’t always agree with some of your decisions (like blowing half your budget on one card). I like seeing what kinds of deals you can find. I just think for a new or budget collector starting from scratch, I probably wouldn’t recommend spending so much on one card. Especially considering the price of that Sylveon will most likely continue to go down as more ES are reprinted. I’d be curious to see what other cards you could have gotten for that $46.

Pre order 2 astral radiance pokemon center exclusive etbs. Those things always go up in value. But lf we not holding for a while. You could open and sell the big sellers. But holding as you know is best

I remember purchasing complete base sets for $90 back in 2016. Finding and purchasing mint/gem mint base set zards for $40 - $70 bucks. 1st edition base set zards raw copies for $300 bucks. Those were the days!

Man those were some nice pick ups. I finally found some stuff at walmart they had the tins with slowbro and mew in them. Picked up two from the vivid voltage set I got a gold Hero's Medal which is pretty cool I think to snag one out of a tin. I also noticed they had xy booster packs of crimson invasion in them. Are those worth trying to keep the boosters sealed and as a an artwork set if I can pick up the other two packs?

what are your thoughts on a base set psa 1 graded collection, I thought it would actually be a hilarious piece and at the same time is technically rare because psa rejects grading half point cards so it has to literally be right on the money the worst (gradeable) rating on a card

With $100 I can buy the raw/graded cards I actually want. Ripping packs is fun. BUT it’s a total gamble and unless you can buy a mountain of them it’s not going to get you the cards you want.
