Yes, a lightweight Linux OS., combined with an SSD., and the maximum amount of ram., gives older computers a new lease of life; for 64 bit computers I use Linux Mint, I like their Mate desktop but there are other choices and for 32 bit computers I use Sparky Linux LXQT..
