I'm glad this video came out. In the Black community, most Black people view communication degrees as being stupid and a waste of time. I am tired of the ridicule and scoffing. This video helps.

I would highly suggest anybody going for a communications degree: make sure you complete internships for whatever field you want to work in. It is quite hard finding a job with a communications degree and no experience in the field you want to work in. They usually go for someone that has a specialized degree for the job or experience. Speaking from experience.

I was going for this degree before dropping out, saved myself $26k. I only got an associates degree from community college in business administration (which didn’t really help) but sometimes I wonder if getting the BA would of made a difference.

Turning 30 this year but never finished my undergraduate degree. I am passionate about foreign language (I've learned 4, and speak 2 fluently). I want to create online videos and programs for people who want to learn English as a second language, and found your video after researching degrees that might help me accomplish that goal. Thank you for the great info!

I majored in "Communication & Conflict" and I feel I wasted 4 years grinding for it. Majority of interesting jobs in my opinion is "writer jobs", "Social Media jobs", or other various real estate jobs + HR. I hear its a great degree all the time but so far no luck with finding my short term career.

@@Mastinox803 I did, I went to work with my dad in construction. But there are other fields I was interested in that didn't necessarily encompass most of what my degree taught me. There are options but I think my degree was just my first step. That and I didn't have a clear vision of what I wanted to be. Now things are different, I'm learning more skills and trying to gain as many experiences I can so I set my sights on where I really want to go. Then I'll be able to get to where I really want to be.

I'm in between choosing English or Communications as my major. English was my first yet hearing something like this has my head spinning again. It takes 1 thing to change my mind completely. 😵

I’m on the same boat. Did you end up deciding?
@nebx21272 жыл бұрын
@@fanyr4319 Hello, I'll be attending college next year and completely understand where you're at. If you're pursuing a reliable future (with more opportunities), Communications is 100% the way to go. English degrees typically land you a niche job, and these types of jobs are becoming more scarce every day. I considered an English degree as well, but communications will inevitably teach you more, offer you more opportunities, and you could often land a similar job by having a strong communications background anyway. Also, maybe try a double major or major/minor to get the best of both degrees. Hope this helps, I'll be praying for ya! I hate these types of decisions as well lol

This reminds when I was in a technical high school and all the shop teachers had a sales pitch. Craziest was the graphic teacher telling us that the people that print the money is graphic designers like that was our next step. 😂 It was inspiring at 13 but it would have been better to talk about students careers after they graduated.

What could be the problem?😭😭😭
@mck55499 ай бұрын
There is no problem. Its just that there are so many people seeking very few opportunities. You can open a marketing and communications agency. Keep on applying for formal work, but also sit down and think about the business you can open. You can also open a KZbin Channel because you have communication skills, and that way you become a broadcaster. Think wide, think solutioins....
