Like with most things new Zealand is an expensive country. Partly it is because of the location being an island in the middle of the ocean at the bottom of the world. But it's also because of the new Zealand labour laws (yes I'm a Kiwi) and partly because of the taxes, acc fees etc... this is just some of the factors. Great video though. Also check out best ugly bagels if you get a chance

There are a couple of places you could have got the bagels cheaper I think, ie Wholly Bagels. Maybe not the salmon one specifically, but pretty much any of all the other bagel options. You're trying out a couple of the slightly more expensive places... KC is great though, go there a lot - really good food and still really quite cheap. Must try out Pizza Pomodoro now... (Btw, it's Courtenay Place, not Courtenay Street)

That pizza didn't have much topping on it what a rip off that's the type of pizza you get in Europe. Next time go to dominos you get a pizza half the price but with a lot more topping.
@GlenAndMado
@GlenAndMado Жыл бұрын
I understand your frustration but you pay for quality haha 😂 if I ate dominoes I'd feel really heavy and bad after it but with this Pizza we felt great. Domino’s is really bad quality pizza thats why its cheaper😅
@evitasdad
@evitasdad 9 ай бұрын
It’s not the amount if topping, it is the texture and flavour. Dominos is standard fast food stuff.
@G7FX_REVIEWS
@G7FX_REVIEWS 9 ай бұрын
@@evitasdad I disagree I have eaten pizza different countries in Europe and its rubbish compared to Dominos because its thin crust not thick base and 2nd it don't have much topping its just bread with a slight bit of cheese nothing else. Least with Dominos they give thick bread you get big chunks of cheese melting of the bread and anchovies capsicums and meats are big toppings
@evitasdad
@evitasdad 9 ай бұрын
@@G7FX_REVIEWS Your description has….. proved my point!!! The pizza they ordered does not traditionally have heaps of toppings!!! And is supposed to be thin crust.

@@evitasdad Well i never get full stomach eating a thin slice of bread with hardly any topping on it and they charge the earth I will feel ripped off id rather just go to supermarket buy a $2 bread and some cheese, tomatoes then get my monies worth.

Not much, as a New Zealander who left nz over 20 years ago, you couldn’t buy much then for $100 so I’m sure a lot worse now, every 2 years I travel home to see family I say to myself it can’t get anymore expensive and every time it just keeps going up, the consumer is just getting bent over year after year in every way food just being a small part, I feel ashamed what’s happening to my country and the government over the past few years have shown their true colours and have totally sold the country to china and the US puppet masters.I definitely won’t be returning anytime soon once you get past the beauty there’s not much left anymore I like you’re enthusiasm but you are just travelling the country as a young couple for the first time, everything is new for you but there’s nothing you have shown that I don’t know and some.I remember them days I have travelled all over the world many many times over.P.s try and see what 100€ gets you in you’re country especially Dublin I’d say a lot less next time you are home do a blog on that 😉. Good luck 🤞

What's happening in NZ regarding cost of living and rising prices is happening all over the world. Geographically NZ is more disadvantaged and with its small economy it does struggle to keep pace with the rest of the world. But, I think you're wrong with your assessment re, the country's beauty is the only thing going for it. These guys and other KZbinr's have highlighted through their travels and blogs what everyday Kiwis living in cities and small towns do on a daily basis, they're living normal lives and there seem to be a lot to do where ever they go. They haven't shyed away about how costly things can be on their travels either, which is great for any potential visitors to the country. The average Kiwi may not take home as much as others living in other countries, but they're a lot better off in other ways. Judging from their comments, they've travelled extensively and they maybe a young couple traveling NZ, but they are on a working holiday (for about a year) which is totally different from someone whose just visiting for a couple of weeks, so they'll have a good feel on how the country works by the time they're ready to go home.
