I had the pleasure to coach player with a peak elo of 4000 on faceit. This was the highest level I have ever coached anyone, and I did not hold back. But he gave me a challenge, if he was not happy, he would not pay, so am I up for it, well watch and see.

You've made some great points there, although I would argue that Proactive decision making is not the same as autopilot. Of course, some automation is important in a variety of scenarios - but you should think actively about the game, even if you have been in the same situation before. Autopiloting would just loose you a round, if the enemy does not autopilot. I hope that made sense in a way ^^ Other than that, great video!

you took it too literally :D he did not meant that you do everything EXACTLY the same as last time. Autopiloting = not thinking and he did not say that you don't need to think.

@@richardatanasov8575 Yes, I know, it just felt like not being clear enough for players without enough knowledge about the game. Just tried to give some constructive feedback. As i said, the video is a great one, but for me this point was a little confusing to grasp at first - but maybe i just misunderstood something :)

To get into flow state you need to not "micro" think! Flow state is what makes you good at games! Being able to get into it and full focus is a skill!

As a new player who is trying to one day be really good… how do I use my time effectively? I have heard many videos say play DM until you are comfortable fighting but then some say DM is useless and to just play comp and learn that way. Any advice will help
@MegaLynx182
@MegaLynx182 9 ай бұрын
DM is good but dont get caught in the "I am only comfortable while playing DM therefore I will play more DM" mentality. Yes DMing is good but it cannot replace playing actual games. Also just make mistakes and learn from them, and be comfortable making them. Dont worry about what your teammates say or what you say to yourself in your brain. Its okay to go 0-15 in a half as long as you understand why you did.

Focus on specific things when you dm. First 15/30 mins, focus only on correct counter strafing, try stay still before shooting, faster than your opponent can. After that, focus on not choking when aiming and correct crosshair placement.

@@N1CK0LAS Facts I knew a guy who was the best coach in battlefield 3/4 competitive scene he was a 30+ years old guy with not so great aim or skills, but he was smart af, he pretty much knew everything about the game and tactics, he definitely was able to make teams way better than they were without him. I guess this is 99% the case for most sports and e-sports coaches.

No disrespect, there is a lot of things you are missing. Frist time when he dies on b you could talk about b setups and assistance from middle. I know you cant expect proper teamplay in faceit but it is still viable if you ask your teammate to stat ready with a flash or able to flash. You could also mention spacing in the t pistol where the first 2 die ramp and in the 2vx where the bomb is far in front you could make a Call for him to wait and then Peek together. Great vid tho and you seem very nice

We alreasy talked about it. The coaching session was 1 hour, not all make it to the video sadly. As well as when you coach a guy at this level, some stuff like setups, mid support etc should be concept they are familiar with and no need for me to explain to them 😀

"coaches don't play" - the saying goes a coaches job is to correct mistakes and get the already capable player to a higher level, because the coach knows the mental background, and the flow of the game, he can put it into words, he can analyse the plays and see what is off, which then will improve the player who is essentially playing by instincts and thinking on the spot in the game

Coaching is about an outside perspective. Most of the time we dont see what we do wrong in our own plays because most of what we do is just muscle memory. Having a coach can allow you to take the criticism and act on it to change something and improve.
