It's kind of eerie how the forces which are good or convenient for entrepreneurs are usually also bad or inconvenient for customers. "Competition is good, it drives innovation and keeps prices cheaper! Oh but if you're a business owner competition is bad because it lowers your profits and forces you to come up with ways to get ahead of your competitors."

On the one hand i find this serries fasinating. Business is maybe the biggest factor in our modern live. That being said I always get a existential crisis when watching, my body just reels against the thought of compitition. The moment i start thinking in that way I imidiatly start stressing and losing focus making me preform worse. But that is my problem.

Better off? No, business compete in order to steal as much surplus value as possible. They will do absolutely anything, no matter how immoral, in order to increase their profits; if they do not, a more ruthless capitalist will come along and drive them out of business. Imagine how much better life could be if nobody was motivated by greed and profits, but instead we worked together.

@@bjf10 it's impossible to do in today's world sir. We can't dream up an imaginary world where everyone works together to solve problems (although it is a future wanted by many) so we have to take the state of the world as given, and turns out the best way to maximize efficiency in this world is to have competition and "greedy" capitalists run the system. @ddddddd35785 жыл бұрын
@@bjf10 well we can't really say no to the capitalists, we need food after all. There has been some attempts to create a good enough Welfare system so no one will starve to death, but in this world to gain a higher standard of living is to work, and almost everyone would love a higher standard of living than what they currently occupies (also to maintain existing habits & lifestyles) so we also need businesses to employ us ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ P.S try to compare real wages of american workers to real profit of businesses, they often rise and fall at the same time.
