I'll tell you how to be sure it's the real deal: CRYPTOGRAPHY. There are already systems in place, like PGP, that allows you to sign and verify the signature of any message, video, image etc. It can't be cracked or hacked and provides 100% certainty, we just have to polish their usability and give it to the masses.
