Back in the day, I was at the Manhattan Chess Club before they closed. There was a major tournament with many titled players including Tate Sr. I watched the game he had with IM Krush. He flipped out when he lost, bemoaning his home preparation failure.

7:30 I don’t get it what do you mean by “it doesn’t matter which rook takes it”. If the other rook (not the one that was used as the example) takes the bishop, then your queen can’t checkmate at al it will get eaten by the rook

My thoughts exactly E1 rook can move towards E2 Bishop position and the Queen would not be able to checkmate.

At 7:25 if they took with the E1 rook instead of the F2 rook would it really not matter? Maybe I'm bad and I don't see the checkmate sequence afterwards.

@Jason Jason Obviously I wouldn't be discussing this without an open mind. I haven't personally met him but I'm sure he would be polite and talkative in person but with pretty much everyone there's things you don't say or share with others and a certain façade. I feel the real him would lie somewhere between the ultra-masculine, chronically-online playboy and the polite, social ex-athlete gentleman.
