Hi Shameka! I am so sorry you had to go through this! I PPROM in April of 2021 at 19 weeks and that same pushing feeling you were having was what i had and i was sitting on the toilet when my water broke too. I was able to keep our son Silas in till 22 weeks when i went into labor for 2 days. After we delivered him lived for about 4 hours after i delivered him. He cried when he came out and everything! I am so glad you didn't decide to terminate your pregnancy! I hate that doctors recommend that! There are not alot of stories about PPROM on youtube so thank you for sharing. I hope you are doing well, as i know this is a very emotional process to go through!

Hello all my strong ladies I have shed tears for all of us and all of our babies that were lost to PPROM . My mucus plug came out on the toilet and my water broke shortly after . I hope we can all have healthy future pregnancies and heal from this trauma ❤️‍🩹💪🏽

I am really appalled that it broke within the hospital and they wanted to send you home! Ever since I went through this I’ve heard so many different stories . Some hospitals kept women as soon as the water broke until they were safe .. others like mine sent me home and when I went home he got trapped in my canal and passed away💔

The Exact same thing happened to me 2 years ago at 20 weeks with my son. The fact that a simple course of antibiotics could have meant I would have a 1 year old today used to haunt me. But I have finally healed and I’m glad to see you have also! Thank you for sharing , God bless you💕

This happened to me 3 weeks ago, too. I lost my little boy at 19 weeks and just found out I had bv. I’m so made at myself that I didn’t realize and keep replaying the days leading up to pprom over and over. I’m glad you have healed and hope I can start to heal soon too.❤

Thanks for sharing your story I experienced pprom at 21 weeks 1 day. I also had to delivery my son who passed away 11 minutes after he was born on February 9th! I wish I would have said something or called my obgyn when I first experience the leakage which I thought I had to pee. God bless you for being strong enough to share your story.

You are so strong for sharing your story with us! I’m sorry for your loss. I ppromed at 21 weeks and gave birth via c section to my son at 23+6 weeks. Unfortunately he passed a day later. Now I am still wondering what caused all of this and maybe an undetected UTI was the reason. Will def advocate for urine samples each visit- thanks for shedding light on this.

I just experienced PPROM last week Saturday in pretty much the same way. My baby was a boy, I keep thinking if I just didn’t keep pushing hard when I was in the bathroom that my water wouldn’t have broke. I was feeling the same way, I had was cramping and thought I needed to use the bathroom.

Thank you for writing this. I literally thought to myself I just had to poop, and now I know I was likely already feeling contractions and cramping. I also keep thinking to myself I wish I didn't push too hard for a poop, when my friend who is a medical professional told me there's no way that's what caused it, and that the membrane and mucus plug are usually super strong and wouldn't have broken from me trying to poop. I'm sorry for our losses; I lost my baby this month at 17 weeks 😔

Coming from a woman who had a pandemic baby, and didn’t even know I was pregnant until I was 15 weeks. I do feel like your team failed you. They failed to educate you, they failed in following protocol, and they failed in showing accountability for the fact that this really was their fault. Now I do believe that sometimes we go through things to help others but you lost your baby and your own life was at risk. Someone has to be held responsible. I was pregnant for two years straight, if I didn’t have to pee, I was given water to make me. I was told if anything feels off no matter how big or small go to L&D from the very first appt and during the times I went to the ER they reiterated the same thing. I was never touched by a regular ER physician and I was always given an ultrasound. Idk this is just not sitting right with me but I know God doesn’t make mistakes and I know you don’t wanna place blame but I’m placing blame. I switched my OB 3 times until I found someone I felt like I could trust( hence why I didn’t have my first real appt until 14weeks) and I always tell new mothers find an OB you can trust because at the end of the day your live and your baby’s life is in their hands. If they are being careless in the beginning that’s what you can expect the rest of the journey. I’m so sorry for this experience and I’m glad you are using your platform to bring awareness💕

Thank you for the comment. I agree. My team was pretty lazy & careless. I didn’t make it any better though. I’m someone who is usually very on top of my health care & due to how sick & drained I was, I didn’t use my resources like I should have. That pregnancy was extremely hard & by the time I had my first prenatal appointment, I was over it. Which is why I also felt okay with leaving without peeing in the cup. I think my team knows they failed me as well though. I could tell that they knew they messed up from how they responded when I was in my L&D room. I honestly was just so over it that I didn’t have the energy to be upset or hold them accountable like I know I should have. I knew that regardless of how angry I got, nothing would change the circumstances so to keep my sanity & peace, I just told myself to learn from that experience & to never let it happen again
