France is paying tribute today to 400 firefighters who helped save the Notre Dame cathedral. While Macron is hosting many of them who will later attend a ceremony in the Paris City Hall, dozens of firefighters are still working hard to secure the cathedral before reconstruction can begin. Inspectors are trying to figure out the exact cause of the fire.

People are quick to blame the renovation, but I doubt installing scaffolding would have caused a fire. This was a well-respected builder who had done numerous, similar projects. Could it be no one wishes to look at another cause? Curious that 875 church attacks occurred in France last year, and that Ines Madani was sentenced to 8 years in prison on the day of this fire, for the plot to burn down Notre Dame 2016 - nothing suspicious there I guess.

The structure of the roof that burnt was made of 800yo Oak, as many French carpenters pointed it out : It does not burn like this and it need a very strong flamme to even start that kind of fire... For now, as we don't know nothing about the investigation, i'd not speculate, but the "accidental" fire seems to me less likely than a criminal fire.

Even now they still claim to not know. I've seen some documentaries about fire detectives who by looking and analyzing at the remains, could tell you everything about what caused the fire. So reading about how they are still speculating what caused the fire after 3 years....is kinda ridiculous. Especially the part where they talked to over 100 witnesses - what a waste of time. It is such a tragedy that both Christians and non-Christians were shocked and took part in prayer vigils etc. to show their solidarity. Notre Dame Cathedral has always symbolised French culture and romanticism - an Icon for tourists and locals alike. Recent statistics in France (which you can research yourself) reveals that only about 4% of French Catholics attend Mass regularly yet Islam is on the increase in France with their places of Worship bursting at the seams! We don't know for sure who are attacking and vandalising Catholic Churches all over France but this sad event must act as a wake-up call for a very ungodly and totally secular society of France to take a long hard look at their religious identity. Do they want their Christian roots to be totally wiped out or are they going to step up to the plate and take ownership of their religious buildings? French lapsed Catholics and Protestants must return to their Faith and rebuild their Churches. Populate your Churches by attending services on a regular basis and visit your Churches often even during the week. Make your Churches a part of your lives and homes. Take a look at all the young Muslims attending their services and ask yourself why they are so eager and positive about their religion. Maybe you can learn something from them. The sad reality is that years and years of secularism, sexual freedom and debauchery, other disgusting sinful acts, the sex abuse scandals of the Catholic Church etc. has taken its toll on French Christianity. The Church in France according to many opinion polls is in free fall! Let us now Hope and Pray that the French people will now be galvanised to stand up and be counted to protect their national identity and culture in a peaceful and responsible manner!

On Twitter I brought up the 1990s church fires in Norway that were set by people including some members of Black Metal music groups. The weird thing was these musicians who did commit arson hated religion so much that they never thought about the heritage behind those churches. I have to say that I had no idea how many Christian churches were attacked in France until this happened. There were over 1000 recorded incidents in the year leading up to this. The fact that they jumped so quickly to accident suggests that if it is an attack they do not want this to come out in case it created unrest. This happened when there were marches against France throughout the Islamic world over Macron saying he will continue to support the right to caricature Muhammed. I think it is pretty obvious that we will see more and more incidents of cultural clashes in Europe.

So the wiring was done in the 1990's and so was not old. Fire detectors were in place and two fire wardens were always on duty. The Architect who looks after the building has said two fires were started in separate locations. And yet the political narrative is that it was an electrical fault.

My dads an electrician and he said if the Church had reasonably modern wiring and circuit breakers and not the old fuses, there is no way it was electrical. He used to design the electrical systems for Oil rigs, where a single spark can start a fire.

My dads an electrician and he said if the Church had reasonably modern wiring and circuit breakers and not the old fuses, there is no way it was electrical. He used to design the electrical systems for Oil rigs, where a single spark can start a fire.

The fire started at the roof, specifically the part around the spire that was under reconstruction. It happened around an hour after the workers had left the sight, it wasn't accessible to the ordinary folks from the street and it smoldered for a while before going outburst (20min. between first alarm and first fire-sighting). Everything suggests that it was an accident, and there are numerous instances of historical roofs being burnt during the renovation. It's simply old beams in combination with sparkling tools used for cutting leadsheets. If it was arson, then it is a well-organised conspiracy, not a terrorist attack. But I doubt that either.

General theory of how the fire started, an electrical problem. In with some big skips, and clear out of the fallen debris/timbers ETC, a big restoration to begin on the roof and making Notre dame safe
