What causes myeloma bone pain? How can bone pain be managed?

I was diagnsed in 2015 after having a rib fracture doing yard work. Shortly after that xray confirmed, they showed me tons of litic leasions that looked the the terminator got shot with buck. I immediately went to treatment and the flood gates opened. I have two other rib fractures probably just from a sneeze and then two spinal compression fractures. After stem cell and long story short, I went from the fall of 2015 until last month 2024 the my revilimid treatment no longer works. Here we go with new drugs and radiation to hopefully help my pain in the ribs now. I guess I can call myself lucky as I was an ideal patient for the treatmen for almost 10 years.

My mom is 79 and developed her MM in January last year, then diagnosed in September 2023. She had RevLimid for 7 cycles, then she has been recovered for 7 months. She was from sleeping beauty with 6 multifractures in her spine and lumbar, then being able to walk again was amazing, but I think she is developing in different areas now. Her jawline and teeth are very painful; the dentist didn't see anything wrong. I hope her pain will go away soon.

Hello…what was some of your symptoms? I have been saying something else is wrong besides fibromyalgia. No meds help with this pain, but steroids calm it down Which is crazy. I recently had labs that said “Faint band in gamma region suspicious for monoclonal immunoglobulin.”

Tim, if you have bone pain, you need to be seen by a MM specialist for treatment. Myeloma treatment WILL reduce the bone pain.

I think the only way for you to truly know it's to get tested. There's lots of diseases associated with bone pain, go to the hospital asap. In my opinion

I have terrible pain along the lines of my bones. I have had diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis because my tendons are tight and sore. I was also diagnosed after 12 years with Cervical Stenosis(had op last year) and i have a Chiari Malformation(hoping to get op this year) I have problems with SI loint and L5 (facet) and they say it not Lumbar Stenosis. It doesnt matter where i press along a bone it hurts especially thighs and calfs and arms ribs , feet arms. I have never had a bone scan etc. I have loads of different symptoms because of many conditions but to me none of them explain the deep derp ache or sore when i press.
