What changed with Forge Guard + how I'm going to build Shield Bash this patch - Last Epoch Patch 1.1

I started Shield bash aswell so it's interesting comparing build choices. I'll be curiously waiting how your setup does later on, as I currently feel like mine lacks some damage. But from what I can tell, mine still has more damage than yours, so i'll be interested in an update on how you managed to scale damage for late game. Good video!

I've also started with this. I switched about just before I opened up Empowered mono's and its very comfy. Your shield choice is certainly interesting and food for thought for me. I had forgotten about the mana gain. I went for a Inscribed generic Relic for the -3 melee cost (Will absolutely use a WW Relic when I get a good enough one). And increased mana regen on 1 ring (Sapphire for the implicit) and on the belt. At 3 Attacks per second my mana spend is 18ps so you need about 125% increased mana regen. I've currently 78% and its ok, need a bit more. I've not found the Sigils Ring yet I think (not sure) I prefer the extra sigil that is behind increased duration instead of the reduced mana cost. - Good video.

Oh and I love your choice of Foot of the Mountain for Boots. Definitely going into my build. Math's out to be about 45 kills (without COF) per LP2 Drop and last league I got several of them but did not count kills.

Yeh mana is definitely something that needs to be thought about. Shield bash used to cost so much mana to use before so I'm really glad they changed the mana usage on it. I just need the one handed axe shield to get this build started then I'll test out the best combo of affixes and passives for the build.

Fantastic video but why do I have ZERO crit chance when I have all this crit chance? Also, throwing crit chance not shown anywhere ? Thoughts?

@@brandonstinnett9150 I think u need melee crit chance on your weapon which you by slamming it into your monument of protection weapon. Getting alot of increased crit chance affixes won't help if you don't have a good base of melee crit chance to build upon.

How's the build going? Seen a few videos using Forge Guard and some using Paladin and not sure which to go with.

@@chadd.7816 I've been slowly farming the pieces whilst also trying manifest armour FG and also void knight as well. I would say if you were to do a shield bash on paladin, maybe it's better to do fire based and spec into healing hands, but I haven't test shield bash on paladin yet.

@@gkobejawnshun1978 I'm using war path atm I had a runemaster last cycle and I'm playing legacy so Ill have ton of o.p items to kinda make up for w.e way I choose to lvl up . Basically just trying get to end game fast as I can while looking for the new weapon shield 🛡️

I'm currently playing manifest armor FG because I feel shield bash needs the shield axe unique item to deal good damage. I'll transition to shield bash once I get a few pieces going.

I went hammer throw till I got the new Axe. I used every Rune of Ascendance that dropped and got 3 axes so its fairly common and Nemesis upgraded one of those to LP1. (I've still not made it legendary... no good Exalted Axe). I wouldn't start with Shield Bash.

but shield bash has no speed scaling

There's a node on shield bash called Shieldstorm which does provide attack speed but you're right, there is no other attack speed scaling for shield bash but I think if you can get really high damage on shield bash, you won't need to attack quickly.
