Apparently you are not aware that criminals DO NOT OBEY THE LAW. Gun laws only restrict LAW ABIDING GUN OWNERS. Homicide is already illegal, and the folks that commit these crimes don’t get their guns from a legitimate firearms dealer.
@561hopedealers44 күн бұрын
While it’s true that criminals don’t follow the law, gun laws aim to reduce access to firearms for those who are most likely to misuse them. Laws aren’t just about stopping crime entirely; they’re about creating barriers that make it harder for dangerous individuals to obtain weapons. No single law is perfect, but combined, they can help reduce harm.
@audio39804 күн бұрын
@ Again, gun laws don’t restrict anyone with criminal intent from having access to firearms. If that were the case, New York, an INCREDIBLY RESTRICTIVE GUN LAW STATE……has violent crimes with guns DAILY. One notable one is the recent homicide of UHC CEO - IN NEW YORK! So, I ask you again, what “GUN LAW” can you possibly make? Homicide is ILLEGAL IN ANY CITY, and the commission of a criminal act with a firearm is also already A FELONY.

If 18 year olds are considered adults they should have all of the rights available to adults. If you can vote, work full time hours, go to the military, pay taxes, and be charged as an adult in the court of law then the whole constitution should be available for you to use. If 18 year olds cannot purchase a firearm until 21 then stop considering them as adults when it’s convenient to law. Also in terms of military members, most average guys don’t even know that much about guns and cannot shoot that well depending on the branch. Most general service guys don’t even touch handguns in the military, and aren’t even that experienced with a rifle, nor do they know much about them. Specialized roles are a different story, but I see this all the time with my friends and people at the range. They throw out military as a barrier of protection just to them prove they can barely shoot and don’t even know much about guns, and it’s always the regular guys who try to seem more qualified than they are. If an 18 year old is considered an adult legally, then they should be able to legally access their God given rights anywhere in this country without issues.

you know back in the day all schools in the south had a shooting and archery session in PE and I don't recall anyone ever getting hurt. That class taught the kids how to handle a firearm and bow and it was even a completive sport in school back then. The problem today is that when you take the proper education out of schools, and you put in place a class that only teaches the kids how to pass a test and not how to actually do the work, it causes people to not know what to do or how to even approach life. Don't blame the gun for the problem, blame the clowns that took the real education out of the schools and the lazy parents that don't take the time to teach their kids how to deal with everything life can throw at them. Teach them how to use the tools that are given to them and let them learn. The older generation never had this kind of garbage issues because we got the education from school and from our parents. If your worried about safety, then teach them safety.

There should be no restrictions on voting aged adults. Unless they are going to increase the voting age, 18 year olds should have the same legal rights as 28 year olds. I don't understand how such laws are not overturned on constitutional grounds, except that by the time a person goes through the court process, they are 21 or older and the case is considered moot. That is a problem with our legal system, but it is still a real constitutional conflict. The problem with open carry is that it doesn't prevent anyone from carrying a gun. It just legally prevents you from knowing about it. If you are concerned about guns, why would you want a law that prevents you from knowing when someone around you has one? It's for this very reason that virtually every other state allows open carry.

Before I purchased my first firearm a Ruger 10/22 rifle I purchased a safe yes that’s exactly what I did because my son was 6. School shootings from young people with mental health issues usually get firearms from irresponsible parents. I know someone is going to be hurt by my comment and I know it’s probably 80% accurate but that’s 80% that can save a life plus don’t leave a firearm in the vehicle especially over night. I have a safe in my truck so I can leave it inside when I run into a post office or a bank, but if I know I’m going into a courthouse or something like that or a doctor I don’t even bring my firearm because I just don’t want to leave it in the car for a long time. I just want mandatory training courses before you can buy any gun. A few years ago, my neighbor was in his backyard with his six and seven-year-old sons, shooting a rifle into the air. When I asked if the rifle was shooting live rounds or blanks, he told me they were live rounds. When he came over the fence to talk to me, he handed the rifle to the six-year-old. As the neighbors back was turned the child, with his hand on the trigger, proceeded to swing the rifle around. To the little boy the rifle was obviously a toy, yet it was a real hunting rifle with real bullets. I think some training needs to be done. You don’t put the gun in the hands of a child unsupervised, and you don’t fire live rounds into the air in a crowded subdivision. What goes up must come down. Guns are tools, not toys.
