Guy was cruising on a highway in China, had a heart attack and fainted, his Aito / Huawei M9 detected driver abnormality, took over autonomously, turned on hazard lights and drove itself to the nearest emergency lane. Meanwhile his connected Huawei smartwatch registered the irregular heart rhythm, and through his Huawei phone dialed for emergency services. He was saved. More reason to ban Huawei. Blatant disregard of user privacy.

When I was a child "Made in Japan" was the mantra for junk. Then Edwards Deming went to Japan taught the Japanese what "process improvement" was all about. Japanese products are now considered among the best, The Chinese learned that lesson, the Chinese took heed, do not dismiss their products. BYD has been building electric buses in Lancaster, CA (in a union shop) for years.

I am living in Hua Hin, Thailand. We own a BYD Dolphin and an Atto 3. Our former cars were from Mazda. These cars are not as good as Mazda, but they are very good. I mainly see Tesla on a weekend, when some of the Bangkok middle class like to show up.

China makes up nearly 50% of the entire global auto market. A Chinese manufacturer can succeed without ever entering the US market. The NETA GT and Hunter look awesome. The car that would scare US automakers is the XPeng MOMA M03. It has a starting price of $17k US.

The majority of Americans are completely ignorant to the EV offerings of Chinese auto manufacturers. ICE cars are going up in price (Toyota Camry starts at $30k now), while Chinese EVs are only getting less expensive each year. The XPeng Mona M03 looks like a $30-40k priced EV, but costs about as much as a Nissan Versa.

What a brilliant video. I found your stats on electric car sales in Thailand to be SO valuable. Byton Boy gets his stats by looking out his window ,and estimating how many cars out of every 10 are Tesla's. Too funny. Your theory that the BYD will just build cars in the US and still sell cars for the same price as the cars made in China is ridiculous. The average auto worker in China makes $500 per month. I guess that is what they will be paying their workers making cars in the US .

For a few years now I have been highly impressed by the understated fact that Tesla has been successfully competing with China's best BEV manufacturers...in China's own highly competitive car market. Just as Apple maintains and strong presence in China and global markets, despite competition from Huawei, Xiaomi, BBK Electronics (OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo), and South Korea's Samsung, I expect Tesla to maintain a significant share of the global automotive market despite increasing competition.

How is their EV reliability? What will it look like in 5 or 10 years? At first, they will have a hard time to sell many in the US. I have lived through the Japanese car introduction to the US of the 80s. Eventually, the Chinese EVs will sell better, as long as they do not invade Taiwan or some other big issue like that. They may kill some legacy auto manufacturers. Many Chinese EVs look nice and sound good on paper. I've never driven or seen one in person, living in the US.
