I've been a big coca cola consumer for a long time, I knew it was bad for your health, I drank too much soda overall, but I said, I'm young, not a problem right now. A couple of months ago I decided to take care of myself, I started eating healthy and I stopped drinking cola and consuming sugary products, I feel great since then. But today I had a craving for a coke, and I bought one, but I said: ok, drink it, but you have to be aware of what it will do to your body, and I searched: "why is coke bad for you?" ', I saw a couple of videos and got here. I learned the lesson, never drink Coca-Cola again and other similar products. Sorry for my english, not my first language. Have a great day.

I quit drinking Coca Cola about two and a half years ago. On the first day I got such a bad headache in the evening because I was lacking the sugar I was consuming for so long. So I got my very last Coca Cola bottle. After that I was tempted very often but I resisted. Now I'm here drinking water and tea (without sugar) and I don't even miss the taste of Coca Cola. Honestly, I never thought that I could do that because I used to be so addicted.
@OkamiKimi Жыл бұрын
@@CompaGuitarra You can definitely do this! Make a one-day goal of not drinking Coca Cola, then add another day, and another, and so on. That's how I did it. Be very determined that you REALLY want to quit it. Find tasteful and more healthy alternatives but also be prepared to be tempted when you go grocery shopping. That is totally normal. Try for like three months and it will get better. The beginning is always the hardest thing in this process.

Thanks for the straightforward message, Vishen. As a archetype-based brand strategist, the Coca-Cola phenomenon has intrigued me for a long time. It's important to understand that Coke's attraction works on an archetypal level in that the brand has managed to forge fortuitous connections at certain points in America's history (the Santa Claus connection, using soldiers to promote it during WW2) that paradoxically connect it to the Innocent archetypal energy which longs for simplicity and utopia. Through the clever use of sonic branding (jingles, theme songs, the sound of the product itself) and palpable visuals (sweating, thirsty human with a cold, sweating bottle of Coke), they are pushing the product through the lens of "Coke is life." This is further reflected by the taglines they have used. ("It's the Real Thing", "You Can't Beat the Feeling", "Taste the Feeling") Coca-Cola is selling you a utopian dream wrapped in soft drink packaging. The power of their brand messaging is such that a few years ago, I was sitting in a movie theater watching the pre-presentation commercials. The screen went black. In surround sound, you hear the sound of ice cubes falling into a glass, then the hiss and pop of a can of Coke being opened, then as the rush of the pour and fizz fills the air, the screen filled with a rising wall of Coke, super close up so you could see the bubbles and almost feel the fizz. It had been almost a decade since I stopped consuming carbonated beverages and I suddenly realized that I was salivating and could actually taste what I remembered Coca-Cola to be like. It was then I fully understood the power of their branding strategy (and was both awed and admittedly a little terrified.) Change will come when people understand the instinctual level at which Coca-Cola has hooked America's consumer culture and begin to wake up enough to peek behind the proverbial curtain and realize that the proverbial Wizard isn't as benevolent and all-powerful as his branding suggests. Information like your video above provides a stepping stone toward change for those who are trying to peer through the smoke and fog they have made an agreement with and now refer to as normal.

I feel this video and the message within it just obsolete and generally applies to all goods we consume around us. Like tobacco, like alcohol, smartphones (apple), mcdonalds, life insurance, petroleum, lottery, electric cars, the list goes on. All these products/services make ads never about the features about the product but more on the image and feels that they are trying to convey, and its called marketing. Sure u can call it brainwashing but literally all other products do it and most things around us are harmful to us or the environment as a whole one way or another. It is already a well known fact that softdrinks like coke have a ton of sugar in it and that its bad for you, much like cigs and alcohol yet bacardi ads convey a message that you'd b a cool person gettin all the ladies, not about the taste of the rum itself, same with lottery (its known that the chances are lower than getting hit by lightning yet the ads show hope, love, family etc). It is in the rights of all companies to market their products (without straight up lies about features/facts) while strumming the strings of our emotions, which is even shown in politics. its just the way it is and ultimately it is the consumer that decides to consume it or not. When internet was made, i'm sure the inventors dreamt of a future where the people are better informed, unwaived by the lies of media and government and that we as a whole would become more aware and intelligent... yet most data on the internet is used for porn, narcissistic self-marketing, gaming and mindless entertainment. Get over it people, the public is unfortunately stupid and un-inquisitive, and selling a product tied to an emotion is what marketing is today, don't single out coca cola like they're the worst when everyone else is doing JUST THE SAME SHIT

How did you manage that? I'm trying to kick my coke habit too but, unfortunately, it's not that I'm "only" addicted to it. Its taste takes me back every time I drink it. I immediately see myself playing soccer with other kids and, after a game, sharing a bottle of coke at the nearby store. Of course, you might say: "Man, you have those memories in your head, you don't need coke to retrieve them". You're right...but when I feel the taste of coke in my mouth, it's like I'm 11 again. At that point I feel so young and energetic. Also, I grew up in Poland where it wasn't always possible to buy coke. Only in the 90s it became widely available. The taste reminds me of freedom and stands for "the taste of new" in my language. There are so many memories I can trigger with coke. My memory has always been triggered by flavors and fragrances. I think in emotions and not in pictures. I'd love to stop drinking coke...but it feels like I'm killing a part of me.

Take Care of your body all you want. People have different opinions and is your life Tbh but I don't get why go out here and spread negativity in the company whereas it isn't like we consume it every other day. Having it once in A while is OK
