I've grown with every artificial light for many years and they all have pros and cons. Combining both HPS and LED during winter months help to keep temps in range while adding a couple of spectrums

Been using led,s for a few yrs now and they just don't cut it so I use a mix of hid and led.Thinking about buying some double end fixture hids and using some strip leds towards the end of flowering.

At the end he says "Red + Blue + Green = White, am I being dense then thinking I should just use a white light? The light I have has Red: 630nm-660nm & White: 3000K-5000K.

I remember an episode of them going over blues greens and reds and I thought it was cool how they explained it as the blue reduces the cell structure basically shrinking it and the reds will stretch out the cells in a plant. The more u know 😅

did a few grows with a combo of white and purple leds as far as visual "human eye" the white seems to cancel out he purple

I have red light for the plants and white light for my eyes. Red grows killer plants you just can't see well.

I don't use them blurple as they call them, I have done but they don't do a very good job, so I'm now using the maxibright daylight 200w and the lumatec supplementary bar 100w and just purchased the vipraspectra xs1500 pro new gen version but that's not up yet !👍🌿💨🇬🇧

I use 2 viparspectra p600s 1series and there awesome..I started off with 2, 2nd generation blurple and the downfalls are(nolonger use them as they aren't worth it and can be dangerous) both had leds burn after a year ..only one or 2 on each but still not good thing..also the power switch broke on one but luckily it broke while in the on position...they both have dual fans and collect dust etc and need clean..I find they like to make squealing noises until they warm up..I didn't hate the lights they work great as a suplimental light source but if both fans died and your unaware and away they may become a fire hazard.. When buying a light I do think the brand I mentioned has the best reviews...the only moving part was a power intensity dial ..not likely to break..no fans to breakdown, no power switches to break..led diodes are protected with a waterproof coating..they both be going hard with long hours for over 2 years on the p600s growing autos on a 20-21 hour up time..not a single issues no one diode burnout ..only thing was the green models of viparspectra they can't be Daisy chained..but the new silver models allow it .they are using even better led diodes and the p600 I use for my small tent I think are the same price as my original ones no price gouging their customers..not a sales pitch just some solid advice ..one last thing if in the same tent with the other lights ..the air that the blurple lights suck in to cool the LEDs also dry the air alot and try the plants up to fast dry all the humidity up and it effects the hairs and the terpines as they dry up .

Are hps better for flower still or are leds good for full cycle?

LED smokes HPS in every way. Take it from someone who used HIDs for years . I used to be that guy renting rooms out of friends and family running big kahuna or raptor air cooled hoods. Knocking out peoples cable in the process lol.

In an ideal world my opnion is a grow light wouldnt just come on, it would get brighter slowly starting with colours in the blue end of the spectrum working its way up to the whites and ending the day with more reds oranges and yellows.
@megaflux7144 Жыл бұрын
i like the idea but the plants simply dont need that kind of attention to detail. itd be like spending 6 hours decorating a cake for a blind guy.

In outdoor cultivation, when the sun is not strong enough, would it be useful to use red light LEDs (the most efficient one)? Thanks
@MIGROLIGHT Жыл бұрын
Yes, supplemental lights for greenhouses tend to be mostly red.

You may try plants used in regions with lower light intensity, like plants cultivated in Scandinavia.
