I’m officially Done with College Football! I started going to FSU games in the late 60’s with my dad, and have been a loyal fan, and supporter ever since. No more! I’m not sure at my age that I’ll be alive to see FSU get out of the ACC. What a sad way to end my love for college football.

You're not alone. College football has become a horrible event to attend live due to all the TV timeouts and penalty reviews. It used to draw 35+million TV viewers and now has barely cleared 20 million in two of its last three championship games.

Great point by Tom at the end. The leadership has done very poorly with messaging. They normally get worked in any negotiation, so the old 'trust leadership' doesn't work.

I think either the big10 or sec would scoop up fsu if we were out of the ACC. So just bite the bullet pay to get out and make it up with the new earnings in a better conference. Rip off the ACC band aid

FSU has no value to the SEC or BIG10. ESPN wants FSU dead, and this is what will happen.

***Just so you know: There were several articles written previously that said the SEC spoke with ESPN in advance of its deal with Texas and OU, and indeed, the SEC AD's were "promised" a valuation for the expanded conference. Obviously the importance here was that the AD's saw the increased revenues and therefore agreed the expansion deal. Most importantly though here is that yes, ESPN has in the past agreed revenue increases in advance of specific conference expansions, and not only did ESPN know the new teams were being lined up but that the AD's saw $$$ on the table. It's ALL straight out Collusion and shame on the ACC for not fighting for it's universities when ESPN undercut the existing ACC deal with ramped up SEC valuations.

I like playing Notre Dame. There is no reason why we can't beat Notre Dame when we have a half functional offense with a quarterback like Costellanos or whoever Mike wants to grab from the portal or recruit. Winning solves a lot of problems ya'll, and I feel really good about the 25 Noles.

Not sure why the panic. FSU and Clemson are suing anyway. ESPN wasn't going to let them go early. Not in their interest. So nothing has changed on our side it appears. We still continue to sue to get out. Am I missing something?

FSU has no value that is the point. Clemson has value to the BIG10 and will likely go there in due time.

Ira stays saying the Big 10 but the Big 10 doesn't have ESPN. the ACC, Big 12 and SEC do. I think he's in denial that ESPN extending the ACC most likely means that IF FSU gets out of the ACC then it is going to the SEC. If Texas and Oklahoma have to go from the Big 12 to the SEC due to ESPN, so will FSU.

You’re right, but there’s been some talk from big ten sources that ESPN wants to move FSU, Clemson, UNC and NCST to the SEC to keep them, and the ACC has already vetted replacements that ESPN is on board with.

Not sure why everyone is panicking about the ESPN extension on this deal. There was no way the ACC would walk away from the table and they are correct in not being willing to do so after having just watched the Pac 12 dissolve because they turned down a TV deal extension and were stuck with an offer from Apple TV. This was always going to happen.

Honestly speaking FSU can’t be afraid of a schedule that has ND, UM, UF and Clemson on it. I understand that we aren’t able to handle that gauntlet at this current moment. However, if we want to go to the Big Ten or heck, even the SEC, what in the world do you think those schedules could potentially look like: OSU, OR, PSU and/or Michigan with a sprinkle of USC or Washington. Or UGA, UF, Bama, Auburn, Ole Miss and LSU. We’re going to have to get use to the bigger, tougher games no matter how you swing it. The hope is this roster gets built to be able to compete with them. You can argue that money will help…but since when has FSU been afraid of playing big boy football??!! That’s what this program was built on: anyone, anywhere, anytime. Cheek and tongue: we have to build the program to get that swagger and confidence back. Also, lookout for GT in terms of getting eyeballs. They are rising in the arena. I believe they may have edged FSU this past season despite FSU going 2-10.

I think the point of that is if we’re staying in the ACC and not getting anything extra out of it for playing a hard schedule. If we go to the Big Ten or SEC, our heart schedule is justified by the amount of money we’re getting.

Without AAU accreditation, FSU isn't going to the BIG 10. The SEC wants flagship universities (Univ of Florida) in contiguous states, that are well attended AAU members. FSU and Clemson are non of those.
