May I say I completely disagree, Burton is an Emo freak who would've Gothified Superman, painted his nails black and have him smoking pot. Also, Nic Cage, and I did like him in The Weatherman, but he is extremely ugly, extremely skinny and extremely bald, to play Clark Kent, a handsome, jacked alphamale from Kansas, did I mention Nic Cage is ugly? I mean super ugly, ugliest actor alive, followed by Keanu.

You know while I'm a bit mixed on whether this Film would of be any good I think the idea of K, the little robotic teddy bear that Clark's biological parents send to earth with Him , is actually really good. It would of given Clark something hinting to His Kryptonian origin without spelling it out clearly for Him and I like how K would be able to morph, eventually becoming the suit Superman wears upon being brought back. Great concept I'd like to see another writer use.

It sounds like Kevin Smith's script was pretty awesome as it was. That was the reason Nic Cage wanted to do the movie in the first place, and since he was responsible for bringing in Tim Burton, I don't know why he would have let Burton fire Smith and then hire the guy who helped him to ruin "Batman Returns". I don't understand why people keep thinking that Tim Burton would make a good comic book superhero movie director. As much as people complain about Peters, it sounds like his ideas for the first Batman movie were some of the best scenes in the film. The iconic alley sword fight and the gothic cathedral at the end of the movie were things that I remember most (aside from Nicholson's Joker performance).

Interesting fact about the cathedral fight at the end of Batman 89. I wonder what Burton's had in mind for the original showdown between Batman and Joker? Thinking about it now, what was Joker's intention of taking Viki Vale with him? Was he just going to kidnap her?

As a 40 yo I never understood why I stopped/never started watching big universe superhero movies after the 90’s. I love superheroes and the comic created universes. Really enjoy the escape into brutal realities where the disparity of power includes natural, or artificial, abilities. I’ve found myself listening to audiobooks consistently for the past 15 years (yes pre audible and torrented to which I feel guilty). Also, not a huge Cage fan but damnit he really would have portrayed an outworlder so well. Also, while not a fan (due to the nat. treasure franchise) dude commits. Been watching a few of the yt uploads recently and realizing how much my developmental teen years were pushed away from superheroes. I knew, from my older brothers and my own reading, what superheroes were. Flawed, destructive, brutal, petulant and f’ing awesome. The current superheroes are so darn flat. Not hating, just can’t enjoy the characters currently in the largely accepted universes everyone watches today. There are a few dirty pleasures, so feel free to criticize lol. First season of Heroes, a couple Wolverine movies, plenty of anime/cartoons that are comic or manga adherent, the Boys, the one with the blue dude and the Rorschach mask, Edward Norton as hulk (possibly should be ashamed of that one:), smallville first 2 seasons, Deadpool (spl?) makes me laugh, and I’m sure several others. Anyway, loved the video, appreciate the history, and thanks and all that. Cheers.

The thumb nail image is incorrect. That was Henry's original suit for superman flyby. They showcased it in a video, and the viewers got it wrong. The guy said it was the superman lives suit, and it wasn't. The final main suit for lives can be seen, and it resembles more of an 89 batman style.

@@cicolasnage5684 My favorite part of that was when Lex saw the world the way Superman does all the time. With the idea that on a microscopic level everything is connected. I was actually interested in Tim Burton’s Superman film back then and intrigued on Nick’s role. Was up to date thanks to SciFi and E! Channel and even some magazines until it was mysterious disappeared from the news. I still think they should do Superman Lives with the help of technology. It is 100% possible, but the problem is that folks nowadays made a cheap looking CGI on a highest budget, whereas freelancers and non-profit folks were able to pull it off. That is just sad. If I have all the time in the world, I would want to learn more about Blender and Unreal Engine and even taking advantage on the A.I such as images and chats just to bring it to life. Right now, I’m learning how to make a donut from Blender. A super slow start, but I guess it got to start from somewhere. At least someone had made an initiative to make a version of Superman Lives like this animation found here. While it is nice that Nick’s Superman cameo was in The Flash, the CGI was piss poor at best. As if the budget for the CGI was that of poor cheap labor and the rest of the money on drugs. I have seen superior special effects in Zack Snyder’s Justice League than that happy versions of The Flash and 2017 Josstice League.

Thank you for the video. Now I know why - Creative differences DIALED TO 11🔥🚒 Goodness My take on this: I'm definitely happy they kept the blue suit on, not the couderoy top with basketball shorts and flaming boots 🤕 On Superman? Even Smallville did better than that. I'd also pick Kevin Smith's script. To avoid the potential CGI problem, braniac could've had a mech suit that's similar to the one I've seen in this video, but with his own "sleek" look. If they really wanted a spider, give Braniac's mech suit retractable tentacles, Doc Oct style. If you dont see it, picture Braniac from Injustice 2 game

Batman Continues During the early development of the cancelled Catwoman spin-off, Burton expressed his interest in directing the third installment of the Batman film series that began with Batman in 1989, which would have been titled Batman Continues. Warner Bros. was not happy with merchandise sales based on the second movie, they decided to change him and Burton put Joel Schumacher as the director of the third installment, leading to the release of Batman Forever, in which Burton was given top-billing producer credit, without being able to contribute ideas; only hiring director and screenplayers. Batman: The Musical In 2002, Burton, Jim Steinman, and David Ives had worked on a theatre production called Batman: The Musical. Steinman has revealed five songs from the musical. The first is the opening theme for "Gotham City" and the entry of Batman with his tortured solo "The Graveyard Shift"; followed by "The Joker's Song (Where Does He Get All Those Wonderful Toys?)", "The Catwoman's Song (I Need All The Love I Can Get)", "We're Still The Children We Once Were" (the climactic sequence) and "In The Land Of The Pig The Butcher Is King", sung by the corrupt blood-suckers ruling Gotham, covered on the Meat Loaf album Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose. After production was cancelled, these songs were released on the Batman: The Musical memorial site. Catwoman "After the traumas of Batman Returns she has amnesia, and she doesn't really remember why she has all these bullet holes in her body, so she goes to relax in Oasisburg. What Gotham City is to New York City, Oasisburg is to Las Vegas-Los Angeles-Palm Springs. [It's a] resort area in the middle of the desert. It's run by superheroes, and the movie has great fun at making fun at the whole male superhero mythos. Then they end up being not very good at all deep down, and she's got to go back to that whole Catwoman thing." -Daniel Waters on his script for Catwoman Batman Returns would be the last film in the Warner Bros. Batman film series that featured Burton and Michael Keaton as director and leading actor. With Batman Forever, Warner Bros. decided to go in a "lighter" direction to be more mainstream in the process of a family film. Burton had no interest in returning to direct a sequel, but was credited as producer. With Warner Bros. moving on development for Batman Forever in June 1993, a Catwoman spin-off was announced. Michelle Pfeiffer was to reprise her role, with the character not to appear in Forever because of her own spin-off. Burton became attached as director, while producer Denise Di Novi and writer Daniel Waters also returned. In January 1994, Burton was unsure of his plans to direct Catwoman or an adaptation of "The Fall of the House of Usher". On June 6, 1995, Waters turned in his Catwoman script to Warner Bros., the same day Batman Forever was released. Burton was still being courted to direct. Waters joked, "Turning it in the day Batman Forever opened may not have been my best logistical move, in that it's the celebration of the fun-for-the-whole-family Batman. Catwoman is definitely not a fun-for-the-whole-family script." In an August 1995 interview, Pfeiffer re-iterated her interest in the spin-off, but explained her priorities would be challenged as a mother and commitments to other projects. The film labored in development hell for years, with Pfeiffer replaced by Ashley Judd. The film ended up becoming the critically panned Catwoman (2004), starring Halle Berry.
