What Could Toy Story 5 Possibly Be About??

I’ve sort of been wishing that the 5th film will be about the toys finally realizing that they really only need each other to be happy, and it’s a get-the-gang-back-together movie after they’ve all been split up to different homes over time. Reuniting to explore the rest of their lives together as the found family they always were. Finding their place in life with each other instead of simply being caught in an unending loop of meeting new kids and losing each other as time goes on. Maybe pop in some cameos of the other toys from past movies and show that they’ve found places to be happy with others or new purposes for living instead of just being playthings. If you couldn’t tell, the 4th film left a bad taste in my mouth because it felt like they split up the family we’ve seen grow over the course of these films. In the word of the franchise, “No toy gets left behind!” Except for when they want to push the drama for the ending of the fourth movie.

I’ve seen people say that this film could be about Woody finding Andy and going back to him which I think would just not work because the 3rd and 4th films show that he doesn’t need to cling to Andy anymore

I agree I see no logical poont for Andy's return it sounds to me like fans who hate toy story 4 caise it thined 3s ending and just wanting things to go back to the way they were id rather see a more forward direction like 4 sorta did for me

I have an idea for TS5: Be about Toys' decompression and appreciating life. Jumping 50 years into the future, the toys are starting to realize that the materials they are made of start to decompress. They find other toys they met once (like Barbie and Ken) in the garbage next to Sunnyside and see they are practically wrecked. The materials they are made of are almost completely decompressed and they'll practically die. This puts the toys in a turmoil that they'll be gone in time too and therefore try to come up with counter solutions. Jessie might even suggest the museum idea from TS2 again as a means of being preserved. However, by the end of the movie, the toys learn to accept that they will be gone one day, but until than they'll live their lives and appreciate what's left of it. I think this idea is P cool as this could really be the "ultimate end of the story of toys". While toys move from a person to person as kids grow, eventually we all die (even toys). Talking about toys dying can be a really great "end-of-the-line" story.

I have an idea! what if the story is about the whole world finding out the toys are alive and trying to find out how they came to life, which was hinted in toy story 4 when forky asked "how am i alive."

I love that!! And as a callback to the first film, Sid could recall a memory when Woody came to life and that’s how they find out.

I think the only way a fifth movie could work is if the plot of the fourth is undone. Bo Peep would be revealed to be a twist villain, secretly becoming bitter over being separated from her friends, thus taking Woody away from them. Bonnie would realize Woody is now gone, at first seemingly like she moved on, until it becomes harder to (for whatever reasons), thus most of the other toys would set out to try and reach him again. Perhaps Bo could team up with Stinky Pete and Lotso if both cross paths to try and stop the other toys and prevent Woody from seeing his friends again, trying to break him and make him irreparable. But I dunno.

That idea seems cool but I would prefer Bo peep as a hero not a twist villain to be honest mainly because she said it’s fine if we have to move on from toys so I don’t really think that plot would work because it would technically be a rehash of Toy Story 4 if the plot was about Bo peep being the twist villain just my opinion tho

The antagonist could be a toy, That did something traumatizing for woody, which somehow led him to Andy. And when he gets those “rush of memories” he will try to find and confront the antagonist in the movie. Or a human, and he will have to discreetly get revenge like destroying a factory to save other toys or something

Toy Story 5 should be about Andy. Having children of his own and a grown up Bonnie, returning his old toys, But when they see how sad Andy is that woody Isn't there they go looking for him

This one probably won't happen but from my understanding, Tim Allen is gonna return as Buzz, but I feel he should be the one from Toy Story 2 (the second Buzz with the utility belt.) Like we saw Emperor Zurg post TS2 and he wound up at the Daycare, but we don't know what happened to "his son" since then. I believe he became a lost toy and had his own adventures, believing to be a real Space Ranger and probably met other lost toys as his colleagues. That way you can still have Buzz around without contradicting Toy Story 4's ending and probably have a different pairing with Woody and Buzz probably something closer to the first film's dynamic and survival but with new twists. (Something that Shrek Forever After kinda did.)

10 days later and they've revealed the first photo of Toy Story 5! It's being released in Summer 2026 and we're still only in Summer 2024! 2 more full years we have to wait! Well, it'll definitely be well worth the wait. I grew up with Toy Story and have watched all 4 movies in theatres. I bought the Ultimate Toy Box, Toy Story 3 and Toy Story 4. So, I have all of them. I also watched 1 and 2 in theatres in 3D before Toy Story 3 was released in theatres in 3D and if I remember correctly, Toy Story 4 was also in 3D in the theatres. So, I've watched them all in 3D in theatres. I think Toy Story 5 will have Andy with his own child. Then, Bonnie will give him or her all of Andy's toys and her own. However, Woody is going to need his voice box back from Gabby Gabby. Imagine giving a cool cowboy toy to a child and he's broken because he has no voice box. The photo they showed, has a child under a blanket and from left to right, it shows Slinky, Rex, Woody, Hamm, Jessie, Bullseye, Buzz and Forky. This means that Woody is back with the gang. I love all 4 Toy Story movies, despite Woody being an asshole in TS1. TS4 brought back Bo Peep and she got a cool new persona! She and Super Mario Bros. The Movie version of Princess Peach both are tough female characters. If they ever met, they'd be best friends.

Well I'm sure that Toy Story 5 will a good story around maybe have Woody and Bo Peep reunite with Buzz and Jessie and have go for one more adventure they ditch Bonnie and go with a completely different kid

I mean that is kinda selfish that they just ditch Bonnie like that, on the first movie, IT'S VERY CLEAR that Andy misses both Woody and Buzz when he can't find them, Bonnie so far was pretty attached too Jessie (And played with Woody in the 4th movie for like one scene in the Forky song i think) So like i get the "it's not about the child" morals of the 4th but they shouldn't just disregard them either unless Bonnie grows up, then they can leave

if they want to reunite buzz and woody at the end, then i feel like the best way to do that is by closing off buzz's story OR the gangs story in general. at the end, they could have a little closing scene implying that woody and buzz had reunited. *(im totally not writing this because my heart was shattered and i ended up sobbing all night when i was thinking of Toy Story 4s ending)*

I say my idea for Toy Story 5 would be Once Bo peep and Woody somehow reunite with woody’s friends a new toy antagonist wants to shut down all the company’s that woody’s friends came from and the new toy antagonist would be a Clay/stop motion character antagonist that wanted revenge on his original owner for abandoning him forever

Despite having _4 entire movies,_ we have yet to have a legitimate conversation or interaction between a human and a toy (the closest we've gotten is Sid). It would be really interesting to have a movie centered around a human finding out the truth, and the toys having to help them keep their secret.

Toy Story 5 could be about modern technology and woody sees the technology is the modern toy but it’s depressing everyone so woody teams up with the gang again and the gang reveal that Bonnie doesn’t play with them anymore because she’s always on her iPad so the team work together to manipulate all the companies around the world to stop technology completely by destroying everything the rest of the world would think it’s a natural disaster and would start to be more active get out more and be happier

They can do something with Jessie uniting with Emily. This one article I read years ago have theorized Emily is Andy's mother which will be a good twist of things. Also, Sid should make a return and be a villain once more. They should definitely go with these ideas for the fifth one and wrap the franchise up for good after this. Too bad they couldn't do this by 2025 to honor the 30th anniversary.

I think since we ended off on Woody leaving to be with Bo, maybe the focus shift of the sequel should be Jessie and Buzz dealing with his absence. Or heck, maybe up the stakes by having a human discover the toy's being alive and threatening to expose the truth. Similar to Al McWhiggin, except they want to make profit off the discovery.

Someone discovering the toys are alive is my favorite idea. In my opinion, it’d have to be grown up Sid, since he technically did discover it when he was a kid.

I feel like it will begin with Andy returning home from college and him visiting Bonnie to see how his toys are doing, and then finding out she lost the one most important to him, woody, and therefore causes to feel so betrayed since he trusted her with him, and she stabbed him in the back and he takes his toys back from her, which might sound harsh but given the context, Andy has every reason to be upset with her

I feel like what they should focus on is Buzz and Woody's relationship and how it's developed and changed since the first movie since it feels like their friendship (which defined the franchise in the first place) has never developed further since then. They're a team and have each other's back, but other than a few moments in maybe Toy Story 3 or 4 it's never really been challenged or been a main focus since the first movie.

I think it might be about either Woody and Bo on their journey (though that's probably better off as a Disney+ show), or Buzz trying to take over Woody's role as leader in the wake of him leaving with Bo

I think the villain of Toy Story five would be the original the neighbor of Andy saying that he saw toys move on there own and speak then the world wouldn’t believe him then he goes searching for them while they are searching for a new kid

If this movie has a 99% Rotten Tomatoes rating, I'll watch it. But I'm not seeing any review until I watch it myself. If Woody and Bo Peep remain permanently together, I'll be okay with the movie overall. If Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head are in the movie, Pixar better do something about handling them without their original voices. And maybe give Dolly, Trixie, Buttercup and Mr. Pricklepants a little more significant role while still utilizing Duke Kaboom, Giggle McDimples, Ducky and Bunny.
